I found myself in need of an 11x17 printer recently, and did not want to buy a new one at the prices they go for these days. I still had my 22 year old HP 1220C stored away that hadn't been used in about 12 years. I looked up support for the thing and found that Windows added a native driver for it about 2 years ago, long after HP dropped support for it.So I pulled out the old thing, cleaned it up (including partial disassembly to clean the ink recovery tank - don't tip it over like I did, it was a mess to clean up because it's not a closed tank), then went online to find ink cartridges for it. The printer takes two cartridges - 45 Black, and 78 Tri-color. I searched and took a chance on these DoorStepInk remanufactured ones.After installing them, the printer went right to alignment mode, spit out a page, and all looked good. The colors look right, and the black is true black, not the dark gray of past remanufactured/refilled cartridges.

These cartridges work perfectly in my very old HP Deskjet 950C. I hadn't used the printer in quite a few years, so when I wanted to print something in color I was not surprised that the ink cartridges were all dried up. These cartridges brought the old printer back to life, even though I read somewhere that the printer might be incompatible with Windows 10/11.

I have a very old HP 970 CSE, more than 20 years old, that uses 45 black and 78 tri-color ink cartridges. I could buy a whole new printer for the amount I would pay for buying the HP brand. Nothing against HP, they make great products. Buying remanufactured ink cartridges makes sense for my situation and the print quality is good for text and small images as well as saving money.

I ordered HP "new" cartridges from another company and these from DoorStepInk. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the DoorStepInk cartridges worked when the HP did not. As a result, I actually received a refund from the HP supplier. It was so nice to have the DoorStepInk cartridges perform as advertised. I will definitely order from them again when it's needed. Shortly after using it one time, It only color prints yellow. All the other colors failed for some unknown reason. The one use was fine, but after a month of non use, it was only printing yellow, when I used it again. Customer service has been poor. I contacted them once and they asked for the amazon order number, in their reply. After giving it to them, nothing! I have only used the color cartridge. I still had my old black ink cartridge and have not used the new one yet, but based on the color cartridges performance, I'm hesitant to see it's performance when it is installed as well. This sucks!! Update : well, I have contacted the company 3 times now. My printer's troubleshooter finds nothing wrong internally. The Doorstep company has run me out of time for a return and will most likely ignore me forever.....

The price point on this ink is great. If you are going to use it for printing homework papers or letters, it is fine. I tried to print some pictures and they were ok at best. The colors were not true and seemed a little faded. I ended up printing them at a 1-hour photo place and you could definitely tell a difference. I didn't go into this expecting archival print quality, so I wasn't completely disappointed. It arrived quickly, well packaged, and worked in my old printer and for that it earned 3 stars.

So far this is my second order and these are very good compared to other refilled cartridges that I have bought over several years, I use them just for printing spread sheets and word items, never use them as photo printing. I love the HP 952c, 932c and the like, they are old style, do a wonderful job, year after year.

I thought I was out of luck for my old printer. But I found this remanufactured ink source and it was justwhat I needed. Got my old printer back in business. It was either that or junk it and I was glad this resource was there. Great product. Longevity ..the jury is still out on this one but I am hopeful about it. Colors and black and white settings all look and work great.
