Great Machine for cutting Vslot and Aluminium Extrusions.
After much reading, research, and thought I bought this for cutting OpenBuilds Vslot extrusions. This weekend I set the Evolution Rage 3 up. We needed to build 2 Kossel Delta Printers, one for my friend, and one for me. Need to make more than 15 cuts,in 20mm x 20mm aluminium extrusion.Found the unit to be solidly built. Minimum reading of documentation to setup. I plan long term to buy the mitre stand, but thistime we literally just set it up on the floor outside my apartment. Our first cut, we stacked 3 1500mm rods togeather, so the cut was 60mm by 20mm of aluminium. Used the blade to measurethe cut, and powered it up, and sliced. Really it cuts aluminium easier than I've cut wood on a table saw. The surprise was justwaiting, for us to look at the cuts. The first cut was perfectly smooth. I'd expected to need to need to sand or file, and cleanup the cut. But it was perfectly clean. No rework or cleanup needed. And the extrusion was powder coated, and no damage to the finish even near the edge.I recommend you wear long sleeve shirt when cutting. The aluminium filings are room temp, but they come off at a decentspeed, and may surprise you. They certainly dont hurt. No sparks at all, no heat at all. This is really a great saw for Maker's, for people that want to build things. :)

Fantastic
I initially bought a much smaller (non sliding) Evolution mitre saw from a well known DIY store. I realised almost immediately that I'd made a mistake as I needed the larger sliding version, so I sold it and bought this one. What a difference! This is an amazing machine. I don't know how I've managed all these years without one. Really well made and solid, not at all plasticky. Very accurate. The laser is indispensable. It cuts smoothly and precisely, leaving an edge which can be used immediately without sanding. It works just as well for cutting tiles (with a diamond blade), and for cutting metal. Don't think because it's not expensive that it's not professional. Everything about it gives the impression that it's made to last.

Evolution RAGE3-S300 230V 210mm Sliding Mitre Saw
I needed a Mitre Saw for various projects for our Garden, so decided to buy the RAGE-300, The delivery time was quick. The Saw came well packed with nothing missing. a robust, and comprehensive bit of kit. I found the instruction book was easy to understand, and was up and running within 1/2 an hour. The power unit is ample, and cuts wood like a hot knife through butter. This unit is a joy to use, I thought I had retired, but I will be spending a lot of time in the Garden shedTony HarveySomerset

Great for quick clean cuts
Used for more than a few jobs already. Having not owned a mitre saw before i don't have a lot to compare it to, but I've used plenty of other saws. It cuts nice clean and straight. I've used it to fit skirting to a lounge as well as laminate in a bathroom so far and it made both jobs really easy to do.

Very Poor at cutting angles
Very poor with regards to accuracy. There is far to much flex and give when cutting angles. No cut is ever the same. You will be chasing your tail trying to get it right.Pay the extra and get something decent. As a previous buyer stated, itβs only use is for cutting fire wood.

So far so good
Well made and good quality. Easy to set up as long as you carefully follow the instructions. I have not used the saw for more than about an hour or two but it performs well and makes light work of accurate repeat cuts. About to embark on a bigger project so will see how it performs over a longer period.

Good saw.
Good kit, good spec for the money. Would recommend. Would have liked a wood blade with it but I will get one of my choice soon.
