If you’re in this text section, you’re like me in at least one regard and this lamp has perked your curiosity as it did mine. The photos supplied by the seller, all of them lovely, make you carving more, and lead to more questions than are unfortunately what are supplied int the box. However, it is easy to unwrap and fairly self explanatory. Get to it, because there is a LOT of unwrapping to do, so recruit a friend. Now what you will find immediately when you open the smaller items, is that the heaviest part of the lamp are the 2 birds and the eggs. And that the Eggs smell horrible. Therefore, go ahead and unwrap All of them from what is most likely cellophane cling wrap, so that they lose that weird chemical smell, which will dissipate the sooner they air out. The eggs look are like glass, but probably not, more likely they are resin, but Regardless they very sturdy. The birds are beautiful and heavy. They have 2 large holes in their bottoms and these fit into 2 poles in the nest which are moldable and didn’t seem assigned to any particular bird, so my only issue was that it wasn’t a Tight fit, so I used the cellophane from the eggs to wrap around the poles to help make the birds stay tighter as they stood up in the nests. They can be adjusted to how young them looking into the nest and looking around. They are indeed lovely. Now, the little lights and the fixture may seem daunting, but it is not. The LEDs are silicone and slide onto the connectors very easily. Do this first before putting them into each egg. But you’re not going to worry about any of this until you have the placement and hanging of the nest/basket completely figured out. *THIS IS CRUCIAL* Ok, so, now, the hanging wires and ceiling apparatus, right. They are difficult. And in my opinion, this would be where it would very helpful if the manufacturer would put some kind of paperwork into the box stating what kind of overly particular and finely tuned mechanisms were inside the ceiling fixture that the 3 hanging wires are inserted into, (which lead to a lot of stress for me ) and I could have avoided the problems I dealt with, which ended up with me hard wiring this lamp to a 2-prong plug that fits into a standard outlet, instead of how it comes in the box. Here is what you need to know: The 3 wires that are fixed onto the bird’s nest lead up to an included ceiling mount. Once you begin to thread a wire into one of the openings, YOU CANNOT PULL IT BACK OUT THE OTHER WAY. The small device that holds the wire inside the nut is on a spring, there is a way to press down on this spring to release the tension on the nest wire to re-lengthen the wire if you need to, but can you please. Can you See how informative paperwork or some sort of sticker inside the ceiling apparatus would be ever so helpful to have known about before I placed wire into this are? And proceeded to damage wire and loose my wits? (See photo of inside of tiny tension-spring / I had to disassemble the device to get wire out and the wee ball bearings scattered all over kitchen floor)Okay, once I made peace with the wire tire fire, and nuts to nutz, this was a snap to covert to a standard plug. I am going to clip the wires and make a much more pleasing finish when we get our final ceiling hooks installed.I wish I could find the appropriate wattage in a warm white bulb, but each G4 I order on amazon is way to much power and explodes. Let me know if you have a suggestion. The bulbs are very slender and very cool white. It comes with 2 extra bulbs and they are in a clear baggy with no info on them. I would’ve preferred to have had warm white, so keep that under advisement as this is very stark in brightness.Otherwise, every who sees it loves it and if I could do it again, I probably would have gotten the one with more eggs.
