Energy Efficient Home Insulation Kit

Up front I'm sorry for the lengthy review but feel it important. In December of 2018 we ordered 2 spray foam insulation kits from Foam It Green. The first kit we used right away with no issues other than a strong toxic smell for several days. We attempted to use the 2nd kit the beginning of January 2020. We had problems from the start. The nozzle was not mixing the two products correctly. We ended up with foam running down the walls. We tried to stop using the product but even though we turned off both valves the product continued to run out of the nozzle making a complete mess. We had to put the tanks outside in frigid weather. We contacted Foam It Green right away and they stated we had to return the canisters and hoses to them at our own expense for them to make a determination as to whether or not the product was defective so they could refund the purchase price. The warranty was good for 13 months and they stated that even though we were close to the end of that period we would still be covered. We felt it unreasonable to expect a customer to return two heavy tanks with hazardous materials seeping out of it and cover the cost of that. We told them about the fumes and they stated there are no CFCs, VOCs, Urea-formaldehyde or Penta-BDE's in the product. However, they do not inform you prior to ordering the product that it is a "Polymetric MDI Mixture", and "Polyether Polyblend" according to the Material Safety Data Sheet included with the product. The product dispersed is designated as a "TOXIC and DANGEROUS" substance by the EPA Agency for toxic substances, Center for Disease Control, OSHA and other agencies. They designate this chemical as a "DANGER" which causes skin and respiratory irritation, difficulty breathing, eye irritation, dizziness and a list of other concerns. These are symptoms my husband experienced even with the required protection. I and our dogs were not in the addition where the product was being used and still had issues with these symptoms. These are facts about this product and this is not all inclusive. We found the Foam It Green representative we tried to communicate with to be dismissive and not concerned about the issues with the product. I don't understand how Amazon can allow this product to be sold to the public without any warnings. They stated that they have a 99.9% success rate. If this is the case why do they have such a high percentage of reviews with 3 stars or less? They also state that they have a 100% warranty against manufacturer's defects. A number of reviews state that they were unable to get a refund. Our canisters and nozzle were obviously defective. We are not happy with endangering our health and spending $799.00 for a product we could not use. We have made numerous attempts to resolve this matter with Foam It Green with no success and doubt very much if they are going to step up and honor their warranty. BUYER BEWARE

Ran into a couple of issues that I think everyone purchasing this should know. The spray gun can and will malfunction. This will make the mixture unstable and you will get yellow milky foam. I contacted the number and hit the option stating if your foam is not spraying green. It said to get a bag and spray it in to see if both nozzels are spraying the same. No instructions if the nozzle does not stop when you are not pressing the trigger. Well by the time we figured it out, we ran through a lot of wasted product. I was not able to finish my product and when contacting customer services they stated that they could sell me more of the product to complete the job. It seems that they are mostly about the dollar then customer service. This to me was very disturbing as I have already paid 1499.00 for this. Customer service would not replace what I have lost due to a faulty hose. The foam is great but you will take a risk if the hose is not working and loose out on your investment.

I left this product a 1 star review because it was the lowest integer that amazon would allow. foamitgreen will only give you one mixer gun per very expensive kit which means once you start the application process, it is then a race against time before the mixer gun clogs up. The majority of the foam applied reverted back to a syrup like substance (even though it was the prescribed color like the manual said). Now instead of foam insulated roof, we have been left some sort of neon maple syrup rain forest in the back half of our shop that is now costing us time and money to remove, not to mention the lost shop space. Some of the area dried appropriately so I have no doubt that this product would work under very specific conditions, however you should realize your making a several hundred dollar mistake every time this very iffy product has a hang up and you have to fix it, and it is a very labor intensive, hot, and gross process. Go pro this product is a turd.

The product is OK...but a double click cost me an enormous restock charge...not happy with that...I inadvertently double ordered the product...I would have been money ahead by accepting my mistake and using the product...

The only insulation that i can tell a difference once installed.It works, expensive but you can feel it.No VOC, which is nice, no stink once cured.
