Bioluz LED 6" Brightest RETROFIT (120 Watt Replacement) Warm White UL-Listed Dimmable Retrofit LED Recessed Lighting Fixture - 2700K Warm White LED Ceiling Light - 1200 Lumen Recessed Downlight

I just purchased a condo that needs some paint and general cleaning up. The recessed lights throughout the unit (36 of them) have changed color in that they are no longer a nice white. I knew I could not paint the ceiling and leave these discolored lights. I thought the best would be to paint them. I have done that at my home previously using a heat rated paint. A neighboring condo owner said he put in retrofit lights. They looked great. I bought one this Bioluz 120w equivalent retrofit to see if it would cover the old lighting rims and to make sure it fit. I tried it in two fixtures to be sure and it was a perfect fit in both (they were not identical- Strange that the builder did not have all the same fixtures). Point though is that this retrofit is ideal. It fit in both designs, it covered the old rims, installed it looks like a brand new fixture, the light is bright and the light is warm, the look is great.. The cost is about that of just buying new bulbs which I need to do anyway. I don't have to paint the old fixtures now saving me a lot of work. This is a great product. I will retrofit all the recessed lighting fixtures in the condo, all 36 of them.

I purchased these to replace eight incandescent ceiling mounted lights (R30) that were installed well over 30 years ago. I removed the old inner canisters and replaced them with new 6" inch Remodel LED Can Air Tight IC Housing LED Recessed Lighting. These new LED lights fit into those canisters very easily. They are really bright (which I wanted), and they are on an LED dimmer now. My only complaint is that the round flange outside the bulb area isn't wide enough for my needs. The old light fixture had a much wider flange, and I'm guessing because of that, the ceiling material wasn't as precisely fitted to the old canister. Because this new light fixture doesn't cover the old hole in the ceiling, and is barely enough to cover the new canister, I will need to add plaster repair/caulking and paint to improve the look. Of course I didn't know that until I removed the old fixtures. I've now seen that some other brands have a slightly wider flange, and in retrospect perhaps I should have gotten them instead of now needing to make some minor, but time consuming repairs. Other than the aesthetic fit issue I am facing, I am happy with these lights.

Great lights. Easy to install, individually boxed and protected, great quality. Nice range of dimming. Installed with a quality LED specific dimmer switch. No buzzing sound what so ever. Fits well with HALO can lights. Most importantly, the light is a warm light, similar to incandescent bulbs. Instant on. Very bright when at full on. Installed throughout basement. Love them so much, I'm installing through the rest of the house also. Wish they came in packs of 12 or more.

Good bright and dimmable soft light retrofit with high light output are not easy to find. These lights fit perfectly and made my living room bright and cozy.The only reason the overall rating is not 5 is installation.Just pushing the light in the existing can does do it. To make light to hold in the can you need to make sure that springs get into those tiny vertical holes, which is quite tricky to accomplish. I had to spend up to 30 minutes for each light to install it. Finally found a way to do it. Take a 12 inch wooden or plastic ruller, cut out a V -shape from the end and use it as a guide to push springs into holes.Lowes sells similar lights with frictions plates that are much easier to install, but light color temperature and brightness options are very limited.

I wanted very bright lights and these are pretty good - much better than most comparing the lumen output.Easy to install, nice wiring, fairly priced - very pleased.

If you have a 6" LED using this type of mount, you shouldn't have any trouble using this product for a replacement. The little wires that you push into the bracket hooks on the housing can be a little awkward to get into place, but that's the nature of the beast. If you have good access to the opening in the ceiling, you shouldn't have much trouble.Just so you know, 2700K is the color of a standard incandescent bulb. I wanted 3000K like the old, flickering one I was replacing, but could not find a single 3000K light with the brightness I wanted. 3000K is a soft white color but not harsh. I slightly prefer 3000K, but 2700K is fine. I'm satisfied with the brightness of this LED.

I have been hunting for a replacement LED for what were originally 150W incandescent 6" downlights. Most soft white LED replacements prior to this have not been able to compete with the lumen output of the old bulbs. These do! They have the added benefit of replacing my old yellowing trim rings with a new white rim. Installation was a snap. My only nitpick is that, like most LED lighting, the glare is a bit higher than incandescent.They work with two style dimmers I have in the house. At first, the Lutron Diva dimmers didn't seem to dim sufficiently. While researching if these were tested by the manufacturer, I came across a document that explained that the dimmer had a setting to adjust the lower part of the scale. I set this and all works perfectly! Now I wish they made a 2700K version of this that put out something closer to a 100W incandescent.

I had canned, recessed lights in my cathedral ceiling and the space always seemed dark because the bulb was only shining straight down because it was recessed up into the can of the fixture. As you can see in the picture this light sits almost flush with the ceiling and brings the light out on to the surface and lights up the space so much better
