works like a charm!
I do not understand the less than 5 star reviews this product has received. I love it! I could not insert my new soft lenses to save my life! I have small eyes and must have been phobic about getting my fingers to close to them. At any rate, this little tool, made of soft rubber, made inserting my lenses a breeze. Worked the first time I tried. I couldn't believe it. This tool is worth way more than it costs. If you have trouble getting your soft lenses in, this is the answer to your prayers. Use it, eliminate aggravation, and add hours to your day!

Good Tool for First Timers
This is my second go round of trying contacts. My first time was miserable. I ordered this and another tool, and this one actually works. I am able to get my contacts in after a few tries. It is not perfect, the lens can go in funny, but it does work well vs trying to get them on your fingers and then trying to insert them..I definitely recommend this if you are a newbie that is having a lot of difficulty with inserting lenses.

I was able to start getting my contacts in just using my fingers like everyone else does
I couldn't get the device to work. I am 50, new contact user, big hands, small eyes certainly not the most dextrous person around. However, I tried this thing everyday for 3+ days several times a day, maybe 10-15 minutes each time (you get tired and your eyes get irritated after a short time trying to get the contacts in) and never got a contact into my eye. Because of this, by necessity, and grief from my wife and kids who all wear contacts, I was able to start getting my contacts in just using my fingers like everyone else does. I would not recommend this device. I would recommend simply being patient and learn how to insert contacts the conventional way. However, ladies with long fingernails and people with deformities associated with their hands and fingers that won't allow them to insert contacts might try the device as an option.

Great for inserting soft contacts
I am 59 years old male with clumsy big fingers and have just started wearing contact lens for the first time. I would spend 45 minutes and have a red irritated eyes trying to insert each lens. After almost calling it quits I decided on two products: one to hold the lens, and another to hold the eyelid. The one to hold the eyelid is worthless. I quickly learned to hold the eyelid myself and the applicator keeps me from dropping the lens. The applicator is a great choice for anyone who is clumsy like me or other reasons prevents them from inserting. I can now insert my contacts within a minute and don't have to worry about losing them either. I highly recommend this product. This is for soft lens and has a hole in the side stem along with the top and bottom of the tube to prevent excessive suction from forming, unlike a hard lens applicator. I have distance contact soft lenses and wear progressive glasses with plano at the top and 2.5 at the bottom. Every year I will be getting a new prescription for soft lens contacts and the progressive glasses will not change. With 2 week lenses that can be worn for 4 weeks, this will be a fraction of the cost of progressive lenses every year and will have the best of both worlds in terms of corrective lenses.

Not good for soft lenses
This product was too rigid for my soft contacts. I am just stuck with a useless item but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Great accesory for inserting contacts
I am 50 years old and have just started wearing contact lens for the first time. Due to the inexperience of inserting them, I would spend 30 to 45 minutes an eye trying to insert them. After almost calling it quits as far as being a contact lense wearer, a friend recommended I go on Amazon and shop for an item that would assist with insertion. I did just that and decided on the Original Softsert Soft Contact Lens Applicator. I have to say that was a good choice. I can now insert my contacts in with no problems all in record time. I would recommend this to anyone, but especially first time users of contact lens.

Works just like I was inserting with my own finger tip
My contacts are a little rigid and they tend to roll right off my finger tips. I tried the stick inserter, and while I am quite capable it requires a little more dexterity than I feel like exerting early in the morning. This lens inserter is great. Keeps the contact from falling off and works just like I was inserting with my own finger tip.
