6L6GC STR, Power Vacuum Tube, Matched Quad (4 tubes)

I installed a matched quad of these tubes in a restored/rebuilt Conn organ stereo tube amp. This Tung Sol quad replaced four vintage, unmatched and tired tubes that were in this amp. I have been using the new Tung Sol tubes for nearly a year and a half, and they have performed flawlessly since installed. I can't vouch for their use in guitar amps, but clearly they're one of the best new production 6L6 types for hi-fi use. Very happy with their cost and performance.

I dumped the stock groove tubes in my new Fender Bassman 110t and put these in. Rockinnnnn!I have gigged heavily with them for about 6 months now, and they haven't even hiccuped. And I beat them hard, too. I like power tube distortion so I run them heavy.They sound great, and are very durable. And if these can handle the abuse from my bass amp, they'll be great in your guitar amp!Highly Recommended.

I was a long time user of the original black base TAD 6L6WGC-STR tubes which unfortunately are no longer available. TAD's new red base version doesn't sound the same.Tried several other 6L6 short bottle tubes but nothing gave me the warmth, smooth top end and compression the original TAD's had.I ended up switching to Genalex Gold Lion 6V6 tubes that sound great but I lost a lot of clean headroom with the lower output tube.I had not tried the Tung-Sol 6L6GC's. Of all the 6L6CG-STR type tubes I've tried the Tung-Sol's came the closest to the original TAD's IMO, but ultimately I decided to stay with the Genalex 6V6's.Tonal Tubes were great to deal with and processed my return quickly. I will definitely deal with them again for future tube needs.

I ordered these as my Bugera 333XL Infinium (purchased in February. Attempting to deal with Bugera has been an absolute nightmare, but that is a tale for a different time) is having a bunch of technical issues and was sounding like absolute garbage. The tubes arrived in a timely manner and are of extremely high quality, however as it turns out, the power tubes are not the issue with my amp. Hence the 5 star rating on something that did not solve the problem they were purchased to address.

DO NOT ORDER!! Twice now I have ordered, and only recieved one tube. I am going to assume there is an issue in the wearhouse causing the problem.

Not exactly sure what's going on over there but I too only received 1 tube instead of the 4 i paid for
