Very Poor Quality
I don't normally write bad reviews. However, this time I had to do it. I have read some of the previous reviews and many people have mentioned that the quality was not great. Someone said "You get what you pay for". However, I have to disagree with that last statement. I know that usually people think they are getting such a great "deal" making purchases on Amazon. While that may be true sometimes, it is not in this case. A girlfriend of mine told me she was going to show her dog at a AKC dog show this past weekend. I asked if they generally have vendors at the shows and she said yes. I asked her to look for a cotton leash of this variety (we walk our dogs together every day so she was well aware of the leash I own). She did and the cost of the leashes were all between $15-20 with many costing $18. I generally think that vendors who go to shows, and the like will generally up their pricing just because they can (a captive audience and all that kind of thing) so I expected the prices to be at least $10-$15 more than they were. Given the average price of $18 at the show, I would say that the price of this leash is right in keeping with those sold elsewhere, if not a couple of dollars more. I have had my leash for just over a month (I purchased it on Jan 4th) and it started fraying just over a week ago. I am sorry, but in my opinion, $20 for a colored piece of rope with some hardware is not "cheap". It isn't expensive, don't get me wrong. The think is, it should last more than a month. You can see from my photos (I have 1 in which I magnified the offending areas) that by the handle, the color is not fading so much as it is disappearing. On the other end, where the leash clips to the dog's collar my leash, like others who have posted reviews also started fraying. It should not do that. My friend's leashes are years old and neither of them have frayed anywhere. They look dingy because obviously over time they get wet in rain, or from wet grass, etc. So when I purchase a leash for $20, I expect it to last more than a month. Maybe it is my mistake because I was do focused on finding a "cotton" rope leash that I did not bother to read the reviews until after I had the issue with my own. I can tell you two things: 1- I hope that you are reading this before you purchase so that you can make an informed decision. and 2- I will always read reviews before I make online purchases going forward. If you want my recommendation, don't buy this leash. Make sure that if something is returnable for a certain time period, that at the end of that period, you can still return it for a credit of some kind (refund, store credit, etc.). As far as I know, Amazon does not have a way to handle the exceptions, such as the one that many seem to be having with this leash.

Cheap, cute, but not great quality
I liked the color of the leash and that the ombré was gradual and looked nice. I’ve had the leash for 2 months now and the string that wraps around the end that clips to your dogs collar has completely unraveled. I’m giving it a 4 star receive because even though that happened and I don’t believe it is the best quality leash, you get what you pay for. This leash was cheap and looks nice.

Cute leash, sturdy enough, but looks dingy a month later
This leash was super cute, and I appreciated its stretchiness. However, it hasn't really held up between my puppy's teething and trips to the dog park. It lost some color in the wash, and the threads are frayed enough that it looks very shabby, though I do not doubt the structural integrity yet. If you don't frequent muddy areas, and your dog is trained enough to not chew on the leash, then it should be okay!

Beautiful leash
Truly one of the prettiest leashes one can buy. Often I sit and reminisce on when this leash would wow strangers in the park with its colors. "What a lovely leash!" They'd say. But, alas, my puckish pup has dragged this thing through the mud so many times, it is now a dull, brown shadow of its former self. If you buy this leash, as you should, cherish those early moments. You never know what you've lost until it is gone.

Love this leash
I love this braided rope leash! The rope feels soft and with it's thickness, it is very easy to hold. It also seems more flexible/stretchy than typical nylon or leather leashes, which I like. It seems very durable unless your dog starts chewing it. My puppy was attracted to the rope. The colors are very nice too.

Pretty and funtional leash
This is a very pretty and well-made leash. I like the softness of the rope (and it's not too heavy). Only wish it was about 1' longer!
