NOLS Wilderness Navigation (NOLS Library)

this is an outstanding land nav book that really shows the amount of work that went into it. I dont know how they keep the print cost so low (for what it is). Wonderfully put together and delivers more than it cost.

Great book well written in-depth yet easy to follow and understand as comprehension of the intricacies of topographical map Reading and Compass is important. I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn navigation and recommend if you're going to go out into the woods to know where you're going and how to get back. Highly recommend

After almost two decades of not using a compass this was a great refresher. It is also a great reference to the novice navigator. I highly recommend; well worth the money.

The best one-book reference on navigation with map & compass as well as GPS available today. The previous two versions (published in 2005and 2013) are good but the chapter on GPS is more up-to-date.

OK but there are better choices.
