Weighted Vest Workouts that make sense...
I knew nothing about wearable weights before I bought this book. I bought it because I thought it might be an interesting addition to my workout, and this book gives so much information! Not only does it give information about the benefits of weighted wearable vests and how to use it, but also provides basic information about warming up, workout diets, and other beginning information, which I really appreciated. If you’re not a beginner like me, don’t worry. The book gives you plenty of beginner knowledge but it doesn’t drag on and on about it- it jumps pretty quickly into the programs you’ll use with these weights. These programs include strength-training workouts, endurance-training, and more. This book also provides detailed instructions and photographs of the exercises used with the weighted vests. I’m a visual learner, and these pictures really helped me understand each exercise. These exercises range from basic to complicated, and with a variety of equipment used. The book also wasn’t condescending or aggressive like some exercise books I’ve read, but it didn’t hold your hand either- this one had a really cool reminder of, “the only person you should be competing with is yourself”. This book was a really good guide to weighted vest workouts and I am really excited to begin the programs with the exercises described. I recommend this book for anyone interested in weight training- you’ll learn a lot and you’ll have plenty of pictures to help you along the way!

I was sick of being a cardio bunny and thought that a body weight training would be a great place to start
I have been on a health kick binge lately! I'm not quiet ready to go to the gym yet so I have been trying to do workouts on my own, naturally I need to learn a little bit from the experts so I picked up this book to learn a little more about different types of workouts. I was sick of being a cardio bunny and thought that a body weight training would be a great place to start. Within the first few minutes of reading this book I felt as though the answers to some of my questions had already been answered. I often wonder if wearable weights do anything when I've worn them in the past, turns out it's a great way build up my strength, without causing too much harm. The book does a great job of breaking down the how, what's and why's of wearable weights. It also gives you great recommendations for how to work out AND what the benefits of each work out are. I recommend using their Recommended workout and seeing how it does for your body - the samples was a great starting place. I love how descriptive the book was for explaining how to get things down and what part of your body it targets - great information and beneficial. I can't wait to try all of the workouts, okay well most of them anyway.

This book has got me excited to start a workout!
I have been told many things about an exercise routes. That “strength training is all you need to do” that “high intensity interval training is not good” and the “cross-training” is useless. This book is interesting because it has all training workouts and can be done without the high cost of a gym. With minimal equipment, that most people have, except for the weighted vest you can do these workouts in your home. The nutrition was described in a simple way, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, what’s good, bad, and how much you need. What you need to do before and after a workout. The schedules of each workout routine on what you need to do each day will be great for people like me that can’t remember what they did or need to do. The photos of each exercise and the muscle group it focuses on, makes it easier to plan your routine, do them correctly, and plan a workout to target a particular muscle group.Living in the southwest might be the only issue I have; wearing a weighted vest in the summer months it might get a little uncomfortable. This book has got me excited to start a workout!

Better bodyweight workouts
I’m excited to get my hands on this book because it’s really helping me take my workouts to the next level. I’m primarily a distance runner and do my strength training at home. I don’t have much in the way of equipment, so all I do are bodyweight exercises. Recently I was given a hand-me-down weight vest and I haven’t been quite sure that I’m using it correctly, but Weighted Vest Workouts has clear step-by-steps for more exercises than I ever would have thought of on my own. I really like that the author breaks down the workouts into three different goals—cross training, strength training, and endurance training—because it helps me target my training for marathons and ultra runs leading up to races, and then I can switch to the more strength-based workouts in my off season. Some of the exercises are a little intimidating—I don’t know that I’ll ever be ready for burpees with the weight vest!—but I like that the book offers a range of difficulties in case I’m in the mood to challenge myself. It also includes instructions for using ankle and wrist weights in addition to the weight vest, so I may have to look into adding those to my workout routine as well. Overall a great fitness book.

Affordable and Engaging Home Work Outs!
I’ve been doing at home work outs for a few months now but have kind of hit a wall. There’s only so much I can do with my own body but after doing some research I came across Jonathan’s book and it’s really opened up the possibilities of home fitness for me. I’ve been using a backpack and some waters bottles to do some rudimentary versions workouts but after starting this book I’m going to commit and get a weight vest. The relative cost of the vest and equipment vs that of a gym membership is pretty significant, so why not give this a try.I really like the different programs that the book offers as well, so it’s not just focused on one type of exercise regimen or for one type of person. Anyone can look at this book and find a workout that fits their needs. This book is very easy to understand and really well organized. It’s easy to find an exercise that I’m interested in trying or to learn more about the science behind it. I also like all of Jonathan’s little tips in the books!
