Very funny short stories of Adventures a young boy encounters on summer while out of school. Good reading for young or old individuals length of stories long enough to be enjoyable. So if you'd like to put a smile on your face I suggest this one highly.

I believe this to be one of McManus’ very best book of humorous short stories! A great book to get and then read aloud with emphasis and facial gestures which will have you, your spouse, children, and/or grand children laughing until the tears flow and you simply cannot read any further because you are gasping for breath. LOVE it.

These are the best books if you're an outdoorsman or have one in the family. We used to sit on the front porch with our six kids and try to get through one of his adventures without laughing so hard that snot bubbles emerged. For any age or gender, and especially in 2020, laughing is so important to survive the craziness.

I've loved PFM for years. After a good friend had cancer surgery/chemo and was in rough shape I bought him Pat's books. The stories are short and hilarious. A good fit to cheer him up at the time!

McManus writes lovingly of his childhood misadventures. Hilarious stuff--this is all short pieces, originally written for magazines, so it's easy to pick up and read for a bit, then come back later if need be. "Guy" stuff that women will enjoy, too.

Grasshopper Trap made me laugh out loud several times from beginning to end. I think it will appeal to mostly men from ages 8 to 88. I am going to read it to my grandsons. Somewhat like Steward McLean the author takes us through one ridiculous situation after another. I really enjoyed it and I know my grandsons will too. Jumping back and forth over time each chapter is a separate story. You may even learn how to trap a skunk... or not.

Recommend any and all Pat McManus books .Been reading these stories for many years in outdoors magazines and now I have them in one easy to read place.

I use to have that book + 5 more in hard cover landed them lost them McManus is the greatest remedy for whatever bring you down, he is to precious to loose never will I lend him again.
