Works Best if Pants are Steamed First
This is my second Corby. The first one lasted at least 25 years old before the padding got too wrinkly to leave the pants without wrinkles. I was struck how nothing has changed (at least upon visual inspection) since the previous model except it no longer has a little bar that slides out to hold a tie. Not a big deal but that bar was a nice touch. While the machine doesn't look like it's robustly built, the fact that my prior one lasted so long is testament to their quality. Now as to how well it puts a crease in the pants, my experience is if you put in a suit pant it will do an okay job on its own. But if you first steam the pants (i use a Jiffy Steamer which is great) before putting the pants into the press it makes a huge difference. Pants come out much flatter and with a more defined crease. So for me, the Jiffy Steamer is a necessary part of the process. Indeed, if you use the steamer and press together you will almost never need to dry clean your suits. The valet tray on the console is very small. Don't expect it to hold anything but some loose change. It would be nice if Corby thought about upgrading the product by making a much more useable valet tray (and adding back the tie bar). The feet is also a weak spot. They're made of plastic and on my wood floor I'm worried they're gonna scratch the floor so I put felt under the feet to prevent that. Another welcome upgrade would be to offer casters instead of feet. This would make moving the press much easier (not that's it's heavy but if you slide it across a wood floor it may scratch it and it won't move well on carpet). I like to tuck my press out of site when I'm not using it and having casters on the bottom would be really helpful.

ALWAYS PERFECTLY PRESSED
This was a replacement for the almost exact model I purchased after a trip to London in 1984. These were in the hotel rooms. I wore it out and was thrilled to see they are still made by the same company in almost the same way. They look exactly the same. It is wonderful to refresh a pair of pants without digging out an iron or sending them to the cleaners. Highly recommended.

Might have been a better design if they had engineered a means to compress ...
Does the job pressing the pants -- just not sure if the effort fitting the clothes in right is worth it. If you don't align the clothes just right, which is difficult due to the side locking bars, you end up pressing in the wrong creases. Might have been a better design if they had engineered a means to compress the clothes straight down instead of at an angle.

Two Delivered... Two Did Not Work
First one did not work when plugged in. Returned it. Second one also did not work. Getting my money back and look for another product. Sigh.Update 1/17/2016: Third one delivered (4400 Model this time). It works but the two screws which keep the top on were missing. I went and bought some and put them in; pressing works fine. But I've had Corby's for 20 years+. What the heck has happened to their quality? Truly awful. Won't be buying Corby again.

Wasn't as good as my first one.
I bought this as a replacement when my old one started putting in wrinkles. I put the feet on backwards and that makes it a bit unstable and I'm too lazy to try to take them off and put them on correctly. The control panel didn't have all the screws so it just sort of sits there on top. It heats up fine but I find it, too, puts wrinkles in my pants. Also, I wear a 32" pant leg and I'm guessing I can only get 30" in the press. It's a shame. I loved my first one (it lasted and did a good job for over 10 years).

Great purchase!
My only wish is that I had purchased this sooner. Another quality product from the Brits that helps greatly in taking care of your trousers/suits. I now use this every weekday, as well as some weekends to keep my pants nicely pressed for the day.

I like it. I use it all the time.
Works pretty well. you have to make sure you get the pants in there flat, and aligned on the creases (which is just common sense), but it does a pretty good job! I have to change clothes sometimes 2-3 times a day for different functions. when you only wear something for an hour, it seems a shame to launder them, when a touch-up press will do. This makes it work.
