After charging the unit according to the instructions, it worked fine... for a few minutes.Incredible integration with Iphone and control of color.After a short time in use, it made a "pop" noise and DIED. Unable to turn on again.

This is not what you expect. It is by no means pro or meant for a photographer. If you are just looking to add a color or something goofy to your photos then sure it works. I like the idea of this light. It's just to bad that it's tungsten and day light colors are so bad. At higher frame rates you will notice scrolling on video footage. Is it worth the money? Absolutely NOT.I really don't like putting down an innovating design but this is only in the effort to help improve the fuctionality. Sorry guys

A mostly great product. Overall it's nice to have a backup light when I need it. And the way it wirelessly connects to your smartphone devices is really something to see.A con that I have is there seems to always be this high-pitched ringing whenever it's on, so that's annoying when I'm shining it in the face of my actors not only is there light in their face, but there's also a very annoying sound to go with it.I love how you can change the colors at will, that's really helpful. I see what they were trying to do with the innovative app, but ultimately it just became more of a hassle and I just wanted to control it manually.Not a great device for a rush.All in all, I'm pretty much pleased with the device. I'm sure I'll buy from Rift Labs again someday in the future, but definitely not right now.

Got this for my gal and she likes it a lot. No, its not for major professional set ups, but it certainly helps out around a photo shoot! It has been used for portrait photography, a photo booth, and some product shoots so far. the battery life has been solid, its flexibility of brightness, color temperatures, and color shades is of course its strength. It operates easily with and without the app.It makes setting up a quick photo shoot so much more manageable than hauling around a full size light. For the photographer on the go that wants to add a little flair to their shoots or take care of basic lighting without another bag of equipment, this is a good tool to use.I would recommend a small tripod with this as well. We use a small magnetic one.

Nice for low light or color highlights. Using the app is a learning experience, but once you get the hang of it it works well.

The Kick video light I purchased from this company did not operate. I charged it using an iPhone charge cord for 12 hours. When I got green light and removed the charge cord, it would not turn on. Good thing I pitched this item from Amazon who crowded my money right away.

every time you charge it, you have to reset it. I wright to Kick and they promise me to get a solution. It's one month ago and no more news. When it work. its great !

It's bright, no shadows, lightweight and compact. BUT, it defaults to an extremely warm/yellow light color when turned off & on quickly, AND it's tricky to change the warmness of the color without the App.
