Outstanding fan but died in 24 hours
Here was my original review I posted, until it died. My additions are at the bottom. For people who are worried about noise, and watched the video the other poster posted, remember, that was a directional mike on a camera very near the unit. I was shocked at how silent this is compared to my other fans. At high, this is still less noticeable than my Honeywell at low.Granted, it doesn't move as much air as that does at high, but I didn't want that much airflow unless I'm drying out my basement. For my great room, this is outstanding. When I have the TV on at a normal volume level, 12 feet away I can barely notice the fan noise at high. At medium, I can kind of notice it if I really try.I've got oscillating space heating towers, and as others have complained, the rotating unit is annoying and distracting. This accomplishes a great range of motion with only a small portion inside noticable as it moves. And that's more seeing light behind it as the inner mechanism pivots side to side and you are lined up right. There was no smell or noise along with the ionizing on this unit, but by the same token I haven't noticed anything accumulating around the base as their customer support told me I would when I asked about cleaning the unit. Their reply was that there is nothing to clean in or on the unit, that the "dirt" will fall to the floor near it.I have no rattling, no unusual noise at all, on any of the settings from the oscillation, no wobble, nothing. It is incredible on low, because the room feels fresher, you get some slight air movement occasionally as it passes you, but nothing too obvious. Very subtle and very silent. On medium, same thing just a bit more of the breeze. High, it's enough to make me comfortable after work when the house reached 81 degrees since I had the air off all day, without having to turn on the air conditioner. Now compared to my smaller "turbo" honeywell circular fan, it's not as powerful - but then towers would never be that powerful as far as I can tell. If you need a very huge blast of air, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for something to make your area more comfortable without the annoyances of a standard fan, this is definitely a solution for you. Most attractive of all the ones I've looked at, blends very well into the room unobtrusively, and does its job well. Which is what I always look for, something designed well and functions well. This is and does.EDIT:24 hours later, the unit no longer oscillates. Light comes on, but the internal mechanism simply no longer operates. So returning it. Went from 5 star review to 3, won't give it a 1 since clearly this is not a "normal" issue otherwise all these people who reviewed would've had a different story, but also obviously it's a crapshoot...

Performed above expectations, but finish is nothing to brag about
I bought this fan for my bedroom (it's a small apt bedroom, roughly 200 square feet). As I keep my PC in my room, an ionizer was one of the primary features I was looking for in a tower fan, followed by height (40+ inches).Upon unpacking and assembly (and to my disappointment), the entire unit did have a cheap feeling to it; The tower and base are made of plastic, and the base is thin and feels flimsy. However, once I screwed it on it seemed sturdy enough without any sway whatsoever. The cover, when ejected, does not go all the way up on its own as another reviewer noted; however I plan on keeping the remote on my nightstand and never opening it anyways so I don't care too much about this. The height is definitely a pro (I chose this over a honeywell simply because it wasn't tall enough and shot air into my mattress instead of me), and on your average queen bed with box spring and bed frame, the fan works nicely to cool you off.The remote control is a nice touch, however with its circular design you have no idea which button is which in the dark (it is perfectly symmetrical). I just feel for the IR LED bulging out from the disc, and I know that that is the front. The unit runs very quiet in the first two settings, and the third setting does make a bit of noise but it is still magnitudes lower than a traditional standing fan and not loud enough to the point where it becomes uncomfortably noisy. The LED display is dim and not bothersome at all in the night.I will admit this did make the air in my room feel and smell a lot fresher, as if the window was open. I was skeptical about ionizing fans as this is my first one, but I can definitely tell the difference in air quality (and temperature). The internal oscillation is a neat feature and has a surprisingly wide angle of oscillation (more than 45 degrees for sure, but less than 90).The fan advertises a "breeze" mode which is supposed to simulate an outdoor breeze. I can't tell the difference and just keep it off, but I think it varies the air output, which is more annoying than interesting. If I wanted a breeze I'd open the window. All in all I think this unit definitely holds its own for the ionizer and height alone, but its flimsy plastic finish and simplistic LED display makes me think that it is a bit overpriced when compared to its competitors. Ultimately, I would purchase this again.

It works just like a fan, DON'T expect too much...
I have read the online reviews before I bought this little fancy tower fan. However, no one said it works only if your room is not so hot already. If you use this tower fan in a room that does not have air conditioning and it is hot like mine then forget it. It does not help much except giving you some air and it gets warmer as you leave it on for a longer period. It feels just like a regular fan!!! It does not push as much air as the reviews said it would. I was very disappointed when my room was still hot even though I had the tower fan turned on. So a fan is just a fan. It works just like a fan and nothing more. So I ended up buying a portable air conditioner. It is bulky and heavy but it cools down the room because it is an a/c!!! So now I can sleep better at night. However, I have to admit that this Miallegro Tower Fan is slick and stylish and easy to carry around because of its very light weight. I love its little and round remote controller and the timer control. Also I have to mention that it is a quite fan too. So, I have decided to keep the tower fan anyway because it does not take up much of space for storage. Maybe I can use it when I move to a different apartment that does not have a hot room... Now I am going to give it to my parents to use it in their bedroom so the fan will help to make their room cooler and they don't have to turn up their a/c that high and save some energy and money. Since there is a timer control, that should help them to fall asleep at night without worrying about to get up to turn it off when they feel cold.Overall, with the style and the convenient features, it was a good buy for its low price. I would give it 5 stars if it pushed more and cooler air...but sorry.
