Nice carburetor.But!!! I replaced this carb for a Mikuni flat slide I had, because a friend said this carb was the best and easy to use. Well it is a nice carb, but for my application it has been a real pain in the ass to tune. First you need to decide how your going to use this carb, if its full on race or for street use. My friend uses his for a track bike, I use mine for street use. I have been fiddling with one main problem, idle air+fuel adjustments, and high and low idle issues.I tuned this carb with base settings recommend and then worked off of these recommended setting, all is good, 1/4 throttle part throttle, full throttle, all good, but idle has been a real pain. It is extremely sensitive to weather, temperature/humidity has been a real killer. I have to adjust idle air circuit in the morning at cool temperatures (60 to 65 F) and then re-adjust when riding home (80 to 90F).I get this thing idling perfect one day and the next it is either idling too low or too high, again depending on the weather and temperature.My Mikuni never did this. Oh and BTW I did smoke check the engine to make sure there were no air leaks affecting this problem, as I am very aware of external leaks causing all kinds of problems. My engine had NO air leaks what so ever, so it is tight and sealed..back to he drawing board...
