The Book on Managing Rental Properties: Find, Screen, and Manage Tenants with Fewer Headaches and Maximum Profits…

This is a great, easy to read book on Managing Rental Properties. It has a good mix of both basic property management for those new to the business, as well as a few helpful hints for those that having been doing this for awhile. I knocked it down a star only because it is a bit basic, but this book would be perfect for those with just a few units or those just delving into the wonderful world of property management. For those with more experience, you could probably take it or leave it, though there are enough original ideas that it is worth the buy and the quick read.

We're beginner real estate investors and bought this book after we bought our first property. We used this book as well as several other forms that they gave out for free (when you buy the book) to help us cinch our first renter! Woohoo! Now my husband and I sort of look at it from time to time to check for any issues that may arise, or things that we should tick off when our renter first moves in.By paying for this book, we saved more money and learned a lot more than by finding a property manager for our house. For nearly $25 of investment as compared to $1,000+, I'll take that!

This is not like most real estate books. Many others read like a sales pitch: frustratingly repeating how great real estate is and how you'll get rich if you (insert general statement). This book is about action. It's a handbook. Do this. Here are the resources you need. Watch out for these common pitfalls. Here are the alternative solutions and why each might be best for different situations. Thank you!

While the book itself is fine, it's mostly common sense and the kindle format of the book is not worth the purchase price. The tables and charts in the Kindle version are difficult or impossible to read, and the "bonus book" which contains material referenced constantly throughout the book is not included for those who purchased it through Amazon (presumably to force you to purchase it on their website instead).

My wife and I were accidental landlords many years ago after a surprise job relocation and being stuck with a mortgage on a house in a tough sellers market. No horror stories, but we know we could have done a better job.Now we are intentionally getting into the business as we are getting within a decade of retirement age. We want to do it right and this book has been a great resource as we dive in.I've seen some critiques that say the content is a bit basic, but I don't agree with that at all. It is well-structured and well written. I honestly didn't read a single segment that I didn't feel was useful. I especially like the links to document templates and information about regs in specific states.The personal anecdotes about the writers' experiences also add a credible and sometimes humorous punch to information that one would expect to be boring.Bottom line, at around $17 for the paperback, I consider this book a gift to a rental newbie like me. I highly recommend.

I have read this book three times and my wife has read it once. This book provides many forms that are available on his online site and we have complied our rental program system based on this book and the knowledge it has given. I have read other books but this one has been the best for rental advice. I am new to being a landlord but am excited for this endeavor.

I purchased the book to learn about rental properties. I thought at one time I may have been interested in renting properties. This book was very detailed in explaining how to manage rental properties and explained what licenses were required. The book also gives you examples on how to deal with customers, renters and gave resources to check out on licensing in the different states, etc.

Recently moved out of my old residence decided I wanted to rent it and bought this book after listening to many of the podcasts. Best $20 dollars I've spent in months, the book has removed so much uncertainty that I had before purchase. All of the things they advise are simple and obvious but only because Brandon and Heather already learned the hard way so I don't have to. The sections on tenant screening, and how to develop systems to turn my rentals into a small business were the best in my opinion. The tenant screening process was a breeze for me thanks to the Google Voice account I setup on their advice and I feel more on top of all my paper work relating to the property than I have in my entire life.

SO good! This book is so good and is just full of the most practical actionable knowledge that you need to know about Buy and hold investing. I would highly recommend this book to any buy and hold investor both new and seasoned. Also just a shout out to Bigger pockets itself, it has done SO MUCH for me in terms of growing me in my real estate journey and would honestly urge anyone that is in or thinking of getting into real estate to check out bigger pockets and you will see what I am talking about!

I liked how the author is actually doing what he's saying. So I'm getting direct knowledge of someone who's in the trade. However, I don't like how he pushes one to check out bigger pockets website many times throughout the book. However, I understand that's how he gets paid.

a real eye opener to the inside world of running rental properties. lots of great personal experiences and wisdom's to manage your next great financial adventure. a must read for anyone looking to become a property manager or land lord.

this book has been my bible lately, I’ve made so many changes to my business thanks to this book and I am now extremely motivated as a Landlord!! I feel like I can tackle this the right way. Thank you thank you
