Review: Surprised........ - First I gotta say, Kurupt is one of the few artists who I will always support. In fact, my love for his music probably renders me blind to how mediocre it is half the time. I enjoyed Cali Iz Active, but it lacked a little. So when this came out I figured it could only be worse, but in my opinion it's better than Cali Iz Active. I know, I'm writing this 4 years after release. I'm bored and I was listening to this earlier, so I figured I should review it. 1. Get Out of My Way - 4/5 2. I'll Bury Ya - 5/5 3. Everybody - 4/5 4. Anybody Killa (Feat. Game) - 5/5 5. As Kurupt goes...so does Tha Dogg Pound
As a huge fan of Tha Dogg Pound since their first CD 1995's Dogg Food all the way up to the present day and current 2007 release Dogg Chit, I feel like I have to ask...Kurupt, what happened to you? What happened to those potent, lyrical sledgehammers you used swing back in the day? I mean after Kurupt's Space Boogie CD, His lyrics have been subpar. Dogg Chit is just more so the same disappointing lyrical content that has been present in past Kurupt solo CD's as well as recent Dogg Pound releases: Against Tha Grain, Daz Dillinger/ Young Gotti 1, Daz Dillinger/ Young Gotti 2, Same Day Different Shi* & Cali Iz Active. Daz on the other hand is still on point with his unchanged lyrical style. I never thought i'd see the day that Daz was lyrically better than Kurupt. I still think Kurupt can flow like he did back in the day. He just gotta go back to the lab and come up with them hard hitting metaphors cuz as Kurupt goes...so does Tha Dogg Pound.

last of the west
dogg pound. brings back memories of elementary, when the west had it poppin' this cd won't disappoint, cept for a couple tracks. following the old west coast tradition though, the good stuff's in front, just how it was in the tape player days. unlike others from la who sold out (mack 10) they're still talkin' bout the street life the way it should be. matter of fact, got it in my changer as we speak

Sounds unfinished. Poor sound quality compared to Dogg Food. Daz and Kurupt can do alot better than this.
