Went from bad to worse *Update: a little better*
**Update**After reading my review the company reached out to send a replacement screen free of charge and also included an iPad case as a gift. Product arrived very quickly but I was not able to attempt re-installation for a few days.Installation process was much the same as the first time however the glue was much easier to come off and residual was cleaned off. Once the install was complete, I turned the iPad on and went to unlock the screen. I pressed the home button and it depressed sideways with a slight click and has stuck that way since then (picture). All quadrants of the screen are operational now, however. So in order to work around the failed home button I am using Accessibility Options for virtual home button. This is annoying, yes, but at least the unit can be used at this point.I would probably attempt one more replacement if sent to me but I am not hopeful at this point.Original Review:Had a cracked screen on my iPad Air. Bought this as a replacement for the screen. I am a medical device engineer by day and did the screen swap in the clinical clean room. Followed some Youtube videos as the instructions in the box say literally "If help is needed find YouTube video for assistance"After the installation the left upper quadrant of the screen is inoperable to touch input and home button is completely unresponsive. Not sure of what to do with my Ipad at this point as vendor hasn't reached back to complaint. I suggest a different vendor/unit.

Took a while - and a few tips (including about the button!)
I bought this to replace the badly cracked screen on original iPad Air, which is no longer supported by Apple. Therefore, I wanted an inexpensive solution to keep using this iPad for a kitchen recipe reader, music streamer and weather station.VIDEOS & TIME FOR REPAIR:• Screen replacement took me a lot longer than I anticipated. I thought maybe 30 or 45 minutes - it took me about 2.5 hours.• Most of that time was watching instruction videos! Some of the online videos are VERY long, real time removal of each little shard of glass. There are some shorter ones, that say "then remove the pieces of glass" and go onto the next step. I recommend finding a couple of each that you can stand their voice/music/photography.TIPS:• In addition to using a hair dryer, I pre-heated the entire iPad in front of a heater. I also put the iPad on top of a seedling heat mat to keep the glue warm while working.• It's important to test the iPad before closing back up the screen. I didn't do this the first time, and had to open/reclose it a couple times.• The button included with this screen is not great. If your original button is in good condition, I'd suggest saving it and reusing it, instead of the one attached to this screen. Several of the videos show how to do this, as not all screen replacements come with buttons. I did not reuse my button and in hindsight, wish I would have.• I broke the clip that holds the home button cable in place. This led to a couple attempts to close things up with the button cable in place. I ended up fixing this by putting 3 layers of clear packing tape on top of the cable end to snug it into place, and then using packing tape to tape down the cable itself.TOOLS:• I used a good sharp and stiff paring knife and a razor blade to assist in opening the screen. The plastic tools provided are not great.• The mini screwdrivers are completely sufficient for the job.• Yes, the tools are cheap. They're designed for one-time use, to get the job done.• A shop vac or vacuum with a crevice tool next to your work area will help get the shards of glass safely.• Wear safety goggles and gloves!Good luck. :)

Saved me several hundred from buying a new tablet.
I replaced the battery on my 1st gen iPad touch and messed up the touch screen. I created a few dead spots. I personally thought it was the LCD screen that would need replacement. Wow was I wrong. I then found out the part that make the touch function work is called a digitizer and was very affordable. This product worked very well for me as I already had knowledge on how to disassemble my iPad. I was done in less than 20 minutes. No more dead spots. My iPad is now good to go again. We'll see how the long term use will be.

Poor quality
Do not waste your time and money!Very dissatisfied with poor quality product!Tools weren’t very helpful in taking cracked screen off. Also after spending several hours and fitting the new screen, on the last step the screen didn’t fit well and just cracked again under a small press. The crack now spread like an earthquake whenever we touch the screen and we’re back to square one after spending so much effort, time and money.Oh yes, also received the wrong color from what I ordered.

Really cheap glass avoid...the ribbons are too long and won't fit into the ipad
Ribbon connectors are actually too long to fit under the digitizer, trying to get it to fit is a complete waste of time, when I finally got the ribbon to fold back beneath the glass it snapped right as I went to install it.I've done a TON of ipad glass replacements and this glass it nowhere near strong enough if you cannot install it it won't last.Avoid this product.

Home button does not work at all!
Home button does not work at all!Fairly easy to install, everything else seems fine, screen touch is working but the home button does not work. Tried a few times thinking it’s a connection, no luck. The original home button and this one are different, it seems like the parts are missing, see photo for comparison.Do not buy.

Affordable, quick and easy digitizer replacement
Granted I have replaced a few screens before, this was a breeze. It took me 15 minutes tops, took me a minute to clean and hard reset. If this is your first time look up videos, ifixit, youtube, etc. I used a groupon 2x before to get this Ipad air fixed, both times it broke. I decided to do it myself for under $20, digitizer, adhesive, home button, and tools included! That is a fantastic deal. I could not rate the durability as I am 24 hours in, will update.

Excellent screen, terrible tools
I had cracked the screen on my iPad air A1474 and bought this kit as a replacement. Before it arrived, I watched a couple of videos online of how to replace the screen so I'd know how to actually do it (useful as this comes with no instructions).Pro'sThe screen is absolutely perfect, has really accurate touch action and the home button is great.Con'sThe pry tools included in this kit are cheap plastic and bent when first used. If I hadn't had my own metal pry tool, I'd never have gotten the screen lifted at all to begin removing it. There are not enough guitar pick type tools either and there were no instructions for the uninitiated.

Avoid this screens with those bus cables.
Do you see those bus cables on the right? They fit very bad inside making to stick the screen on that area like imposible. The panel started to fail because "they fit" very very tight creating lije short circuits o false contact like when you touch the screen but nobody is touching.Avoid. Go for other with out that bus cables.

Worst ever
Please close your account guys. The upper part of this digitizer doesn't work, and the home button it's a joke -> a piece of white plastic just to cover that hole (doesn't work also). Please do a favour to all your customers and CLOSE this account and stop trading this crap, it's a waste of time and money

Home button no longer works
Instructions were unclear and seemed rushed. Home button no longer works which is very annoying. There’s a part on the right hand side which makes it very fiddly. There also seemed to be a screen protector on the inside of the digitizer but it wasn’t mentioned. Also the bottom of the iPad seems slightly unresponsive. However quite cheap at £17.
