Homemade Amaro - Great herbal mixture
Bought many of these over the years to make my own Amaro as an digestive aid after hardy meals. I mix the herbs with 1 liter of vodka and soak it for 4 weeks, before straining out the herbs. You are left with an Amaro without sugar, which usually most of them have to much of. It tastes strong and almost medicinal, and that's exactly what I was looking for. A little bit goes a long way.

My review
The flavor is a little different than the other brand I usually buy but wanted to try this and make my own tincture. Would be nice if it were as effective as a tea instead of infusing into alcohol

Beware alcohol prep method
I just soaked it in vodka for two weeks. You can burn off alcohol by putting it in hot tea but I don't always use for tea. If you are sensitiv to alcohol avoid this method. It gets really booze soaked

Dry herbs go farther!
Herbs in a bag cost is down. Love that!!! I get so much more of the product.

Ideas?
I received my order of Swedish Bitters and saw something different in the mix of dried herbs. It is white crystalline bits of rock that smell like menthol. I'll attach a picture and if anyone has an idea of what this stuff is I'd appreciate you sharing with me. I'm fairly certain these were not in my previous batches.
