Lasted 4 years before having to purchase another. Prevent rust by taking the cap off.
Our first set lasted 4 years with almost daily use. The middle rivet that holds the scissors together ended up rusting and loosening. I tried other brands but these cut the best. The only down side is the rust. You can prevent rust by taking the cap off in the middle so water doesn't get trapped inside. It's not aesthetically pleasing but prevents rust from forming in the middle.

Worth it! Love it! Buy it!
The scissor does look like a toy and cheap. I was kinda skeptical at first on the sharpness and quality of it.I bought mine more than a year ago and has been using it almost everyday. Still sharp as before and does not corrode. I really loves it and so I bought a few more as a giveaway for a few friends who recently just had baby as a gift. I keep telling my friends whom I give the scissor to and said don't think of this like some cheap scissor with no brand. This scissor probably the most expensive food scissor out there and yes it is really that good. I also have the 3M Scotch baby food scissor which my wife bought and said 3M should be better. Turns out, after she uses it for a week, she goes back to using this one because this scissor main difference is... it does opens and closes very smoothly and easily (think of a scissors that is well oiled but no oil of course). The 3M one kinda sticky and makes it tiring and not easy to use when you need to cut food many times and a lot. What I like on the 3M is the cap scissor which can be opened and thus can be cleaned easily. The 3M can also lock the scissor for more secure in case your baby decided to take the scissor out of a bag and play with it (which does happens many times with my baby).I keep telling my wife and friends that this scissor would sell well if they make the design more professionally and with better packaging. It just doesn't feel right buying it the first time just by looking from the pictures only as well as the high price for a baby food scissor. But trust me... after using it more than a year now, I said it's worth every penny.

Beware of rust
These scissors are great at first but with time you will see rust where the plastic meets the metal. I purchased a 2nd pair thinking I had gotten a defective one 10months back. I took extra care making sure the scissor remains clean and dry after each use, but even with the 2nd pair, I saw rust. Very disappointed.

Good for BLW
I bought these for my 11 month old... now 13 mo ...we have had them for 2 months. We don't use them much. It's a great concept but we still puree a lot of her foods. May be better for a family who is very into BLW and not as many purees.

Love these so much we own 5 pairs!
I don’t know why there are any bad reviews for this produce because these are the best food scissors I have ever used (and I have used quite a few). I have purchased 5 pairs for my daughter (1 for our house, 1 for diaper bag, 1 for my parent’s house, 1 for her Godmmother’s mouse, and 1 because we lost the original one for the diaper bag) and I have also sent these as gifts for my friends for their children. Out of the 5 pairs that we own, none of them have ever had rust issues. The one pair that we use the most at our house has become a bit loose but still functional and we have had them for about 2.5 years. They are most expensive than others but I would gladly pay for the quality. The blades are well made and the scissor itself is sturdy. I have absolutely no complaints about them. In fact the company should pay me for advertisement fees because I recommend them to anybody who would listen!

Trust me, you need these!
I can't say enough good things about these scissors! My husband and I recommend them to every single one of our friends with a baby/toddler. They are super sharp (so be careful!) but they make serving food to your little one SO much more efficient. We use them at home and when in restaurants, etc. We've used them to cut up fruit, veggies, pizza, chicken...you name it! I do recommend that you're really careful about cleaning them right after they are used and making sure to dry them (with a paper towel or dish towel) immediately after they are washed. We have had two pairs and have not had any issues with rust. After almost two years of use, our first set of scissors became loose and we contacted the mixedpears customer service. They responded very quickly, were highly professional and helped us to address the situation. Definitely a 5 star product and 5 star company!

Expensive scissors for babies should be ceramic
These $20 scissors cut food into smaller pieces. Yes, simply amazing. Oh wait. so do my scissors from the dollar store, so you're essentially paying $20 for the protective sheath. If you're gonna spend money on expensive scissors, get the ceramic scissors because supposedly they won't leave metal ions in your babies' food or cause browning due to the fact that they are chemically inert. OR you can save your money so you can afford that expensive formula and use $1 dollar scissors... Or just use a knife like normal people. I used to think people thought I was a genius cutting up food at the dinner table with scissors instead of struggling with a fork and knife. But since I haven't noticed it catching on I finally realized they were dirty looks due to my utter lack of etiquette.I guess cutting up my steak at mortons with my scissors I brought from the office doesn't scream gentleman but at least I cut up my wife's food so she could get some shut eye.I need sleep.

I Love My BiteSizers Portable Food Scissors!!!
This review is an update to an earlier review I posted. When I first ordered the scissors, the listing stated the price included two pairs of scissors; however, only one pair was mailed to me. I immediately gave Mixed Pears an unsatisfactory review. When Mixed Pears found out about the listing error, they immediately contacted me and honored the listing, by mailing me a free pair of scissors. This action demonstrated by Mixed Pears shows that they are an honorable company and the value their customers' satisfaction. This is the best scissors for cutting food ever, useful and practical for adults as well as children. The scissors is small enough to carry in your bag, and it cuts food easily into any size piece you desire, and the colors are very attractive. If you only own one pair of scissors to cut food, make sure it's Bite Sizers Portable Food Scissors. Love it!!
