This is a slim book chock full of great information. We have a 10 mo old Chessie, and everything that I read was so true! Wish I had read this before we got our pup, but still plenty for me to learn in it. A great basic book on Chessies.

Love this book! Been wanting a book on Chesapeake Bay Retrievers since I love in Maryland and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are the state dog, I wanted to learn more about the breed. This book has helped.

If you just got a Chesapeake, this is a perfect starter book. Although it doesn't cover any one topic in great detail, it does cover most topics a new dog owner would want to know. Everything from grooming, feeding and behavior, it's all there. Good luck with your pup.

The book was very informative and covered a wide range of data on this particular breed.Anyone thinking of getting a Chesapeake Bay puppy should read this book first as this breed is so different from your ordinary dog.I got this book as a gift for a friend who has this breed of dog and I'm sure there will be lots of information she will welcome in the future.Agnes Conway

Great book for our new Chesapeake puppy...needed easy to read tips on how to train. Especially helpful for puppy biting of our hands, lease training and other basic training methods. Enjoyed this book and have referred back to as needed. I bought the used one as it was for me and not a gift...great price. I do recommend this easy to use "owner manual".

I do love my Chesapeake...she is a character. My Labs were much easier to train. Thank you!

Very good book, I would recommend it to anyone interested in the very fine breed of retriever and awesome family pet.

The book was purchased as we were looking to get a Chessie and wanted to read up on the breed prior to making any decision. The book is good, it has sections on history, care and temperament as well as training and advice.I would certainly recommend it to anyone who owns or is looking to own a Chessie.It is slightly american but this doesn't take away the value it adds.

Ein nur verhältnismässig kleines Buch, aber mit viel Fachwissen von einem amerikanischen Tierarzt verfasstes Buch. Ich habe ein derart fundiertes und praxisnahes Buch in deutscher Sprache noch nicht gelesen. Aber diese in Deutschland noch nicht sehr bekannte Rasse, hat so ein Buch auch verdient. Aber alles in englisch.
