As long as you dont take it out of the bag it will be straight... just inoculate and wait

Not for beginners
I should probably do more research before writing an honest review. I don't know if this product was sterilized or pasteurized but regardless if it was pasteurize or sterilized this product cannot touch opener air due to the fact that there is grain in there. If you do not have a HEPA filter you cannot open this bag up and inoculate with spawn. I don't know how this company expects a beginner to know these things so I feel it is misleading. I've been growing mushrooms for over 5 years, so I do have enough experience to tell you regardless if you sterilize or pasteurize grain of any sort it cannot touch open air. Hate to be talking trash about this company but if you are a beginner out there shroomsupply.com has the best substrate around period for beginners and experienced individuals. This is a good product but it is not for beginners and for people that don't understand how to grow mushrooms.

Contaminated
My bags were contaminated and nothing grew. They didn’t come with any instructions but you can google the company and find them online. Still the instructions weren’t great. I inspected the bags when they arrived and I saw a wet mushy grain in one of the bags that could have possibly been bacterial growth but I decided to try them anyway. Of course the contamination could have come from poor sterile technique or contaminated spores but I doubt it came from those. My bags could have been a flute so give these a shot if you want but my advice is to skip the grow bags and make a PK Tek set up yourself to make sure there’s no contamination.

BUYER BEWARE
this is my follow to my original review, which I gave ancient path natural 5 stars for giving me an extra block. Usually I’d just leave it at that but unfortunately none of the four blocks I got did anything. In fact out of everything I’ve used to date, these were the only prebought presterilized bags or jars I’ve ever had contaminate on me. They were pretty bad. It seemed like too much moisture in the bag but who knows. I’ve seen about three people who this has happened to not including me. I don’t like writing negative reviews but unfortunately this was my only option. I thought at first maybe it was just me but like I said I’ve used the same technique for everything I do, bags jars, tubs anything and these are the only ones to contam, and all of them were contaminated.

Fail...
Bought spores from a reputable vendor and this substrate, ended up with a few tiny flies and wasted a month. Of course one could say that it was the sporevendors fault, but they aren't on amazon so how do you know I didn't give them a 1 star? lol Anyways, my advice is get some agar, LME, karo, petri dishes and scalpels, get your spore syringe from your fav. vendor, and watch videos on sectoring, cleaning and isolation of mycelium. (Some spores are only for microscopy and are not legal to fruit, however there are alot of healthy good mushies that are 100% legal to fruit. Stick with the latter) Good Luck!

Pretty easy, would recommend for beginners.
I inoculated all three bags on the same day with 3 different strains. One did very well, the other two were a little slow. I had to crumble them up a couple times to encourage the mycelium growth. I’m at about the 5 week mark and all three bags are ready to fruit. So far no contamination. I’ll update with the final result. I’m an absolute beginner so I would definitely recommend. Just make sure you sterilize the needle, the injection site, and have tape ready to cover your injection site. I just used duck tape :)

Still am waiting to use this product and is being stored in fridge untill successful spawn can be made on my part. These blocks came fully steralized and seem to be perfectly hydrated . I've had in fridge for 2 weeks and they haven't contaminated or lost moisture . I'm sure these will really explode once I can get some spawn going . I'm thinking about just innoculating the block itself and seeing what happens. That's the beauty of having 3 seperate blocks.
