Great light for the price
I came here rip on this thing because for some reason I thought the listing specified that it had an XM-L LED in it ... lucky enough, it only specifies "Premium CREE" LED. Well, it's not an XM-L (I think it's probably an XP-G and/or an XP-G clone), and since the listing didn't specify the LED family ... 5 stars :). The light works as specified, is fairly bright, and a fair price considering that it's prime (you can buy a similar light for ~$3 less as an add-on item). In this case I haven't taken the time to disassemble it to verify that it's a genuine CREE and not a clone (LatticeBright is the most common), but with lights like this there's good chance that it is a clone.Equally importantly, this particular design has been cloned by a bunch of different chinese manufacturers, so if you order this "same" light for a different seller (I got mine from seller KJL), you will get a different light. At the current time, KJL is the only seller with lgihts under this listing (although you can find identical appearing, but different lights in other product listings), so it's probably safe to assume that all of these reviews are for the KJL version of this light. The 3xAAA carrier for this light is designed to be the same length as an 18650 li-ion, and my copy of the light included a plastic spacer tube to bring an 18650 up to the same diameter as the 3xAAA carrier, so you should be able to use this light with an 18650 if you want to maximize performance (I haven't tried it yet). Overall, very good for the price ($8.99 at the current time). As another reviewer noted, be careful if you disassemble it - there is a spring-loaded ball that clicks into detents on the inside of the green zoom ring to give it the clicking feel when zooming. If you're careful, you can hold it in with your thumb and then tape it during disassemble. If you're not careful, it's very easy to lose.

Nice little light for the price
It's about 100 lumens - using 3 Duracell AAA's. I have a Coleman Maxx and it is rated at 144 lumens and it is about 30% brighter (I think the Coleman is about 130 lumens). I don't think any flashlight is as bright as it boasts, but this one is fine. I like the strobe option and the adjustable beam. It also seems pretty tough, and the price is incredible (under $10). So overall I'm glad I got it. I was looking for something really bright (600 lumens +) and this is definitely not it. It's a nice little light though, especially for the price.

Best Cree light!
The media could not be loaded. Very cool. For the price this is very powerful and well made. It replaced two older ones that I thought were good, but now pale in comparison. I just used 3 heavy duty aaa batteries. I bet alkaline batteries would make it even brighter. I liked it so much I bought one for another family member and had it shipped to him.Remember the power button switch has 3 settings. Low, high and strobe. These Cree lights are well engineered. How they sell them so cheap I don't know.I like it.Update 30 Oct. 2015I've been using this flashlight every day, since Dec 2014, while walking my dog, at home and so on.I only charge it once a week or sometimes even less although I use it every day.I have seen many good reviews here, but the 2 star review with the picture is either from a different flashlight or they need to change the battery or try using the high mode/zoom in or out settings.I have made a video of this flashlight but it's not profession (it's been made with my daughter's phone). So, I will buy more as it's a good gift idea for the holidays and also not expensive and very usable!Warning! Do not disassemble the head of the flashlight as I did because I searched forever for the spring and iron ball. If you have any questions, contact the seller as they are quick to respond.Hope you'll find this useful!

Well made flashlight. Only problem is when you adjust it down all the way to the spot light it shines the shape of the square LED in it. Not a big problem but need to use round one I would think. It works well and is pretty bright. I carry it in my pocket and use it a lot. It arrived fast and in perfect shape. Thank YouUpdate; Bought 3 more because we liked them so much and then found out after less than a years use the rear button pushes in and then you have to take it apart and push the whole thing back up into the top and hope it holds which it does not and then it does not work. Found if you put some glue in the top after pushing it back up it will hold it in better. Threw one away because it fell apart and the little spring in the front section fell off and made it inoperable. Still looking for one that is better made.

I ordered one and the first one I received after a week of minimal use the brightness adjuster broke and would free spin. I sent it back and received a second one and about after a week of the same amount of use the on/off button pushed in too far and would not turn on the light. After taking the cap off and readjusting it it continued to do the same thing. I guess that is too be expected for 8 bucks.
