I liked that it was powered by Verizon
I received my ETRAK yesterday, Saturday, November 15th, 2014. I was excited to charge it and have my 82 year old mother, who suffers from the beginnings of Alzheimer's, wear it. I liked that it was powered by Verizon, with whom we have business already.However, I just tried to log into their website but it is DOWN. I tried emailing them and the EMAIL WAS RETURNED. I tried calling them (1.800.279.1261) and the PHONE IS DISCONNECTED. Hmmmmmmmmm. BIG LETDOWN. I will keep trying today and see what happens. If not I will RETURN it as soon as possible.

Battery is horrible - drains very quickly. Lost child? Better move fast, like Navy SEAL fast in order to beat the dying battery. The app doesn't function all that well either. I was at my home in IA but it showed me being in another state? And if that wasn't enough, it is difficult to charge the unit. The first charging base I received didn't connect tight to the charging cord - I had to prop against a wall and use books to keep a snug fit. They sent a replacement charger and the same issue repeated itself. I sent it back for full refund and I received immediate push back stating I was outside the 2 week return window - like 1 day :) Is this the US Post Office? Sorry, we close at 5pm and it's 5:01. I told them it hasn't even worked for 2 weeks and that I've been trying to get a faulty device to work! If you care for your loved ones, don't track them with this. Buy this device if you want a unit that doesn't charge, can't hold a charge, and doesn't accurately show where your loved one is.

If you love someone DO NOT purchase anything from eTrak Corporation! They do not stand behind their product and have terrible customer service. After the gps medic alert device broke off of the lanyard and hit the floor they would not replace it unless I paid $100 for a new 1. In addition, they said I would have to either pay $100 cancellation fee or pay the $15/month service fee for the rest of the contract (8 months) even though the device was not working. When I tried to talk to the manager he hung up on me.. This is the start of my social media campaign against this company who doesn't care about it's elderly clients.

This company seems to be out of business! As the other reviewers noted, the app and website no longer work, the company Facebook page is gone and when I called, no matter which department I chose, I get a message saying "no one is available." No big loss, the product did not work that well anyway! I had replace two of the units because they completely stopped working.

Better than nothing.
I purchased this with a year long service plan to keep track of my mother who has dementia but is still functional. I epoxied a pin on the back so she can wear it. The staff at her personal care home pin it on her every morning and take it off and charge it every evening. It SHOULD tie to the WIFI at the place and alert me when she breaks connection with it thereby indicating that she's taking herself for a walk. That "enhanced" tracking is not working for me despite the companies efforts to help. The geo fence alert system works better. It's not as fast as the enhanced tracking, but it's better than nothing. I'll be testing other devices to see if anything works better.

Been using it for 7 months and love it
I found eTrak to be great for providing proof of travel (needed for my work). The mobile app is weak, but I am not having any issues with my battery - I get 4 days solid without a charge (unless I am on a plane). Overall, very happy with the product
