great collection by the cast of Nashville
I have to say that the song I was least excited about after reading the songs chosen for the cast to sing ended up being surprisingly one of my faves. Connie Britton singing The Grinch song was actually a fresh new version of it for me. I love all the songs the Nashville cast sings, so I was happy to add this to my collection of their songs. The only semi-big disappointment is that there isn't a song featuring Charles Esten, as I like his voice as well. Merry Christmas Baby by Aubrey Peeples showed her range very well I thought, the same with Chaley Rose's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. Lennon & Maisy never disappoint, and their song was another favorite. The final song selection was a good one with what sounds like the whole cast.

Great for a Nashville Fan
This CD is a great addition if you are a Nashville fan: I listened to it in my car nonstop in the weeks before Christmas. In my opinion the two best songs were "Santa Baby" and "Christmas Coming Home" but honestly they are all worth listening to.

Good CD, but wished the case wasn't damaged......
I have this CD and know the songs are good, but the outside case had a large crack in it when it was delivered. I was giving this one as a gift so this doesn't make it very presentable. Other than that, the CD is great!

One of the Best Christmas Albums Ever.. Very Good!
Hey Folks,I ordered a copy of the Nashville Christmas CD a couple of weeks before Christmas.. sadly it didn't arrive till a week or so after the celebration was over but never mind, it'll be around for next Christmas, and so will I hopefully!I'm a big fan of the TV series.. Nashville is one of the best ongoing sagas currently on the air (or online in my case.) The music from the show is always top-notch and I have to say, having given this CD a couple of listens so far, it's among the best Christmas records I've ever heard. Most of the cast of the show have at least 1 number, apart from 'Will Lexington' sadly who isn't there for some reason. The choice of songs is mostly familiar seasonal fare, Santa Baby, Blue Christmas etc, but all the arrangements offer something slightly different to these well-worn standards which lifts them above the usual jingly nonsense we're habitually bombarded with come December. Every track has something out of the ordinary about it and in case you're worried that it's going to be all "Countryfied" because it's Nashville, you may be pleasantly surprised to hear that it's not at all twangy and where there are Pedal Steel guitars to be heard it's all done very tastefully. In fact the whole album is a delight, and this from someone who isn't particularly a fan of the festive season!!So buy early for next year in order to avoid disappointment is what I suggest! Even though Christmas is now passed this album will still be on my playlist for sometime to come. Very Good.. 5 StarsThanks, Px :))

Very good could have been fantastic
Hmm. This is a lovely album - but it could have been better in terms of who was chosen to sing some of the included songs. It starts off with Santa Baby which is quite a jazzy song but it is sung by Scarlett who has a very sweet voice. A more raunchy or gospel tinged one would have done this a lot more justice - for that Zoe/Chaley Rose or even Juliett/Hayden Pantierre would have been a better option. Scarlett is just not a raunchy girl (thank God) and she would have done more justice to the one which was sung by Zoe - Have Yourself a Merry Little Chistmas and which Zoe wails on. This is a gentle song and does not need that high wailing/singing treatment, the result is a spoilt song which starts off as you expect but becomes annoying towards the end. Hayden also is the singer of White Christmas which is too nice a song for her - she would have been much better with Santa Baby or a new song written for the album in the Hayden mould. She needs something that gives that oomph. White Christmas is not that song. It is a fabulous song and Scarlett would probably have sounded more comfortable on it.There are however two really big surprises for me on here. Aubrey Peebles who I normally do not like to hear singing really sounds so good on Merry Christmas Baby and really cuts the mustard with this particular inclusion. The other big shock for me is the Lennon sisters who sing Christmas Coming Home which is also surprisingly good. I don't like children singing and their twee songs are usually not up my street at all so I am very glad to give them this credit, your are great girls. The remaining songs all sound very good and are much better chosen singer for song. Everyone is including, Deacon/Will/Rayna of course and all are great songs given the Nashville 5 star treatment. Yes I do like this very much, with those suggested changes it would have been utterly fantastic, as it is I have to drop a star.

Christmas and Nashville-It just works!
I ordered this for my friend who is a huge fan of the show (like me) as a small Christmas token and she loves it, I had a listen of the samples and have ended up buying myself the MP3 version too which I like to put on in the background quietly at work!It is a slightly different take on the generic Christmas tracks you hear on the radio around this time (December) and each song has a nice "country" lilt to it. If you enjoy the music of Nashville and like Christmas then you will most likely enjoy this album! It starts off upbeat with Santa Baby- I do think Scarlett is probably a little too sweet to be singing Santa Baby but she still does it justice. It's just not my favourite version of the song. Jonathon Jackson does a good job of "Baby, please come home" and Sam Palladio does a lovely version of River (although I had never heard this song before listening to this album!)

A lovely Christmas Album
A lovely Christmas AlbumI'm really enjoying this album. I particularly like Santa Baby by Claire Bowen (Scarlett) , Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Jonathan Jackson (Avery) & Merry Christmas Baby by Aubrey Peebles (Layla). The songs aren't all country music, some have quite a jazzy sound. It's a shame Chris Carmack (Will) hasn't recorded a track for the album.

Fantastic!
Purchased it for my mum as a gift but I love it myself! My favourite songs are 'River' and 'Celebrate Me Home'. If you're fed up hearing Mariah Carey and Wham, then this is the album for you. Great to play in the background while you're making the Christmas dinner. A lovely variety of songs from the Nashville cast.
