The media could not be loaded.  I am changing my previous review as I’ve found out that the global unit just has more vehicles than the USA version and with so many Chinese car makes it appears that all the updates are for Chinese cars. I compared the updates with another unit and the dates were the same

I had high expectations for this Autel to replace my bmw software. Unfortunately it felt short. Not only does it require additional cables and adapters to get the full use for bmws but also falls short with older E-Series models. This 608 pro version is very slow but i see that they have a 2.0. Overall it does cover a bunch of vehicles but its hard to pinpoint how much can you get done based on make model and year.

Pair it with a laptop and a subscription service, plus a j box (as needed), and a DIYer (with time and inclination) can perform even more challenging diagnoses with it. For routine stuff, this tool and your internet search engine will suffice.For a professional, it’s just a great compliment and backup to the high end tools you probably already possess. And a convenient tool for evenings and weekend work.

I have not tested all features, but most functions work well. The PCB adapters are high quality, as well as the pass through box and key pro unit. You do need to connect to the internet for some key in-code/out-code, but that should be expected. I bought mine during a black Friday deal and used the 0% Amazon visa , which made this purchase more palatable. Pro-locksmiths should own this tool amongst other programmers, but this is a nice addition to a mechanics arsenal.
