2001: A Space Odyssey / Clockwork Orange, A / Shining, The (BD) (3FE) BD Triple Feature Includes: 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY / CLOCKWORK ORANGE, A / SHINING, THE (BD) (3FE) Review: A must-own Blu-ray set for any Kubrick fan or film collector - I picked up the Stanley Kubrick Triple Feature Blu-ray set, and it’s genuinely one of the best value bundles I own. Getting 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining together in one package feels like having a mini Kubrick museum on my shelf. The restorations look fantastic — the visual clarity and color in 2001 especially are breathtaking, and the sound design across all three films feels deeper and cleaner than previous versions I’ve watched. It’s the kind of upgrade where you immediately notice sharper details and richer atmosphere. Each film holds its own iconic weight. 2001 remains a visual masterpiece and easily one of the most immersive sci-fi experiences out there. A Clockwork Orange looks and sounds crisp, with all the unsettling brilliance intact. And The Shining benefits hugely from the high-definition transfer — the hallways, the color tones, and the eerie quiet moments all feel even more intense. Watching these films back-to-back in proper quality genuinely reminded me why Kubrick is considered a master of multiple genres. What I love most is how well the set is packaged for collectors and casual fans alike. The discs load quickly, the menus are straightforward, and the overall presentation feels premium without being overly bulky. For the price, getting three masterpieces in such strong condition is easily worth it. If you’re a fan of Kubrick, classic cinema, or just want to upgrade your Blu-ray library with films that truly benefit from high-definition transfers, this triple feature is a five-star purchase all the way. Review: 3 Great Films all in one - Stanley Kubrick is a visionary director, whether or not you understood or even liked his movies you still fell in love with his style. Here we get 3 of his best films, the first being 2001: A Space Odyssey, based on the novel of the same name(which was followed by 3 more novels, only one of which was also made into a film). We travel through, what I'd like to think of is noir film territory. Watching this for the first time I found myself wondering how long before the infamous HAL story would begin, but strangely wanting the glorious music to keep going. When the bulk of the main story starts you are definitely feeling like you are in another world, even as we are now way past 2001, you still feel like this future could really happen. The set keeps are the great special features that accompanies the individual release, as well as the 2 disc DVD. A Clockwork Orange, another classic that was developed based on a novel. Malcolm McDowell is amazing in this and continues to work solely on his popularity in this film. Stanley Kubrick seems to love to play out the wide lenses an angles and really knows how make even the smallest areas look huge. I also love how we are treated to a world where the old motto of "Be careful what you wish for" is so blatantly realized. Again if you have the 2 Disc DVD then you have everything on this release, however if you are like me and want as much as possibly than your best bet is to get the 2 Disc Blu-Ray of this individual release(I believe its a 40th Anniversary Digibook). However this is fine for those who never seen it or are just looking to get a group of classic films in one shot. The Shining, another masterpiece based on a popular book & probably the most famous out of the three. If you want a great special edition that features loads of great extras as well as a clear and crisp picture than go no further. Overall you cannot lose by purchasing this release, you get three films for a cheap price in 3 disc.

Stanley Kubrick Tripple Feauture on Blu Ray
I saw 2001 when first released at the Cinema a Well Done 1968 Science fiction film directed by S. kubrick and co written by Kubrick & Arthur C. Clarke short story the Sentinel , The story deals with a serious of encounters between humans and a black monoliths sending a high pitch radio signal into space that is affecting human evolution , The Film Consist of four mayor sections : The Dawn of Man ( Than jumps into the future ) TMA-1 - The Jupiter Mission : Eighteen Months Later - Jupiter and Beyond The Infinite , according to interviews the movie companies almost stopped showing 2001 at the beginning because it wasn't attracting enough people a G rated film approx 148 minutes long . Clock Work Orange is 1971 Science Fiction Film written directed and produce by Stanley Kubrick from a short novel by Anthony Burgess starring Malcom Mcdowell , Patrick Magee , Adrienne Corri , Miriam Carlin , Godfrey Quiqley , Anthony Sharp , Warren Clarke , This Film features disturbing violent images even funny in some scenes about a gang on a violent spree of crime fighting and raping in future England and the main character Alex , M.Mcdowell's friends are called Droogs an Anglo Russian Slang Nadsat according to movie profile , R rated approx 137 minutes long . The Shining is a 1980 psychological horror film Starring Jack Nicholson , Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers and Danny Loyd produce and directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on Stephen King's Novel The Shining about a writer who takes a job as an of season care taker in an isolated hotel and an supernatural power ghost gradually takes over the mind of the care taker into madness and wants to kill his wife and son during a snow storm , R rated approx 144 minutes long . I have all 3 movies on DVD but are way better on Blu Ray and for a Great Price .

Top-shelf Kubrick
This is a great Blu-ray edition of 3 of Stan's finest works. Many of his films showed how brilliant and visionary he was at catapulting rusty genres into their next evolutionary levels, and these three certainly do that in their respective genres. I still remember seeing The Shining for the first time with a bunch of high school buddies. When a director can hit you with that kind of emotional wallop, and you still recall it, literally decades later, that's pretty remarkable. However, I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted. "Yawn Wide Open", (not included here thankfully) er, I mean, "Eyes Wide Shut" was one of his few efforts that just seemed too slow, self-indulgent, and perhaps pretentious, not to mention Cruise who's generally best when he's running and shooting! Kidman, on the other hand, could just walk around in a burlap sack, and I'd still totally rave about her performance. The best scene in Yawn Wide Open is her standing alone in front of the mirror by herself early in the exposition. Kubrick's obsessive attention to detail make each frame of that scene frame-able. Cruise, on the other hand, again, just a great runner! Lord have mercy, though, please don't show us any scenes when he's trying to cry! He did this in one scene in War of the Worlds, and I'm lucky I didn't have a razor blade handy. And, ugh, he tries it again during his big epiphany in Yawn Wide Open. But I digress. Anyway, even Kubrick's mild flops are generally far more interesting than most average directors' best efforts. Like all great auteurs, his incredible strengths far outweigh his weaknesses. Three cheers for gifting the world with such a remarkable body of work. Thanks Stan!

MOSTLY GOOD, A LITTLE BAD.
if you are familiar with JAWS, or the 007 remasters, then you will have an idea of what kind of picture quality or restoration these have. AMAZING picture for their age. they come on 3 separate disks NOT piggy-backed. PLUS these all just 'start up, with no menus, warnings, annoying trailers and such, and one of the few blu-rays that will allow your blu-ray player to use the 'repeat button'. i pretty much got this for 'the shining' and feel that is about what i got. 1st, ACOrange is one of the worst movies i have ever seen, in every way. even "disturbing". i even had to fast forward through parts of it because i just couldn't take it anymore. never would have known it was a kubrick film. never seen 2001 before either, all i could say was WOW! in a bad way. almost 5 minutes of pitch black, then 20 minuets of monkeys/apes to make a point, then 5 minuets in space (which looks beautiful - wish 'star wars' did theirs like this.) so about 30 minuets in before the first dialog. REALLY?? i like different, and even "long shots" (M.N.Shamalan/Hitchcock), but (IMO) this was just a bit much and was really testing my patients. but with that being said i am warming up to it. i am surprised i even gave it a second chance. i liked it better after watching the featuretts and commentary. i wish i would have done that first actually. anyway, all 3 look STUNNING. both 2001/shining have a good amount of special features to them. hard to judge the sound simply because it just wasn't recorded with a lot of ommmph, and frankly doesnt need it. i doubt any of these movies will be released in a better format. so if you want any of the 3 movies for $10, the rest is just gravy.

Lots of unlisted special features!
As of the time I'm writing this, Amazon has no special features listed for this product. Even the back of the package itself lists few special features. Although it is unlikely a studio would spend the money to press a new blu ray disc for each film just to leave off features for a value pack, I was still pleasantly surprised to see that there are loads of special features on each disc. 2001 disc has: Commentary (Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood), 2001: The Making of a Myth, Standing on the Shoulders of Kubrick, Vision of a Future Passed, A Look Behind the Future, What Is Out There?, FX and Early Conceptual Artwork, Look: Stanley Kubrick!, an 11/27/1966 Interview With Stanley Kubrick, and the trailer. A Clockwork Orange disc has: Commentary (Malcolm McDowell and Nick Redman), Still Tickin': The Return of A Clockwork Orange, Great Bolshy Yarblockos!: Making A Clockwork Orange, O Lucky Malcom!, and the trailer. The Shining disc has: Commentary (Garrett Brown and John Baxter), Crafting the Shining, The Visions of Stanley Kubrick, The Making of The Shining (with optional commentary by Vivian Kubrick), Wendy Carlos - Composer, and the trailer. I agree with the other reviewers who wrote that the transfer is very good, and while the audio isn't spectacular it isn't bad either. If you're on a budget, this is a great set that is worth far, far more than the sale price.

Incredible, film and otherwise
Absolutely Excellent. Case is snug and doesn’t allow blu-Rays to bumble about in the case. Everyone knows the quality of Kubrick’s films, but the documentaries and commentaries are fascinating and insightful as well. The movie starts right away, the moment you put it in, which I adore, because there are no unskippable ads and you can surprise people watching it with you. Also, the extended cut of the shining! Always a plus. Very cheap, three films for the price of one, and a blu-Ray to boot. Absolutely get it if you don’t have these films already.
