Items only arrived in the last few days so not really able to give a very exact review. They do look as good as on the Amazon web site and as such I will give a four star rating and will update as and when they are used.Update. My wife has now used the mats and thinks they are great and look really smart on the dining table. Happy to give a 5 star rating now.

I purchased these to use on our heavily grained oak tables. The colour is good being something between a mid grey and darker fawn and looks smart with our plain white crockery and with coloured napkins. I always serve hot food on very warm plates and use these without a mat on top, without discolouring the table. I would use a mat for hot casserole dishes etc. These were extremely reasonably priced, and food spilled is easily removed with the application of a small drop of neat washing up liquid to the stain, brushing over with a washing up brush before rinsing under the tap and patting dry. These have been used two or three times daily since we received them and they still look like new.

They look attractive, and they are very easy to clean - just a quick wipe over with a damp cloth.Big enough to take the whole table setting - plate, knife and fork - comfortably.Just one word of warning - don’t put a hot plate onto it straight out of the oven!I did, and it caused one to soften and warp badly, so now it’s no longer flat - I’m down to a set of 5. My fault - it is plastic, after all - what was I thinking? Duh.

The mats are pretty much exactly what I was expecting as I had bought a similar type from John Lewis before but they no longer stock them. They are a mid grey. There were 2 pictures one where they look light and one where they look dark, they are probably mid grey at best. I don't put hot plates on them, I have a hard mat on top so I don't know how heat resistant they are, but they are quite thin so I'm not sure I'd want to chance it. I got them because they look nice. Disappointed by the colour though as I wanted dark grey.

These are vert nice , good quality,exactly what I wanted. These mats are for setting your table ,to put your food plates on to either stop the heat from your plate damaging the wooden table or on glass tables to prevent scratches and less noisy moving around your cutlery, it’s not for hot plates straight out of the oven . Happy with my purchase, fast delivery thanks.

Very good product, quite large so no need for an additional coaster.. you can fit a large plate, cutlery and a glass on these mats and still have space. They're easy to clean, have washed them fully in water and wiped them down. Have placed reasonably hot plates on them with no issue.... defo worth the money.

Have only used a few times but they seem to do what they are meant for. My table is glass so not sure how a wooden table would react to a hot plate. The colour is stated as grey but they look more like brown. However I'm quite happy with them as they are easily rolled up for storing
