Stanton SC-4 Stylus Cleaner Kit

A friend sent me a stack of dirty vinyl records. After cleaning them I also had to make sure the stylus was clean and this product is excellent. You see, I'm making CDs from the records my friend sent. Each step in producing these CDs requires attention. I'm glad I bought the Stanton Stylus Cleaner. It's a superior product.

I just wish it came in a larger bottle. Same thing for the applicator brush. I have a disability (MS) that partially affects my hands, and it causes difficulties for me when I try to handle little things with my fingers. Once I can use it, though, it performs well. My stylus definitely needed it. It had begun to make records that were graded "near-mint" sound muddy; I had originally thought I'd obtained dud record specimens. After cleaning the stylus, though, the sound cleared up. So, I once again have a valuable aid. Now, the stylus gets a quick little maintenance clean up before every record-playing session. I'm a collector; main focus is 45 RPM vinyl singles, and I always play-grade records I get in to verify/confirm grades given to them by the sellers. Accurate grades are key to record value. Now I can be sure of them again.

This cleaner seems to work well. The brush is great on its own & works okay with the fluid. Only problem I have with it is the cleaning fluid is a little too watery & likes to run off the side of the brush before you can use it. However, it seems to clean well once you're able to use it, so I still gave it 4 stars.

The Stanton SC-4 Stylus Cleaner Kit works as promised. I have cleaned my stylus several times and it does the job. I received my order in a timely manner and I no complaints. Would not hesitate to order products again.

I purchased this product recently, thinking that Stanton knew more than me when it came to cleaning one's stylus.The directions borderline on hilarious. Basically, they tell you to use their .02 brush on your stylus when build up occurs. As an option, (note: an option!) you can sqeeze a drop of their magic fluid onto the .02 brush. The brush is "carefully engineered", while the fluid is "special....that's unsurpassed at removing waxy build up".For my money it all seems to be one gigantic waste. If I owned the Sirius III turntable by Rockport Electronics at $75,000.00, I'd probably search the net up and down for something that's not BS like this. My turntable is a Stanton STR8-80 which I love! It plays everything except 16 R.P.M., a disc speed that in my 46 years I have yet to encounter.My suggestion for budget concience audiophiles is gently use your finger to wipe off dust build up. It's probably sacrilege to yuppie audiophiles to do this, but I have yet to ruin a cartridge, and I have been using vinyl for 40+ years (that's right, since I was 6!).

I needed something to clean my stylus. This product works very well. The solution really cleans all debris with a couple of passes with the brush.

Great product for audiophiles .

Pros: This set works well. It cleans my stylus with a few swipes.Cons: It's pricey and the brush doesn't hold the fluid very well. The cleaner just rolls off the plastic bristles. It's not a big deal, it just requires a little finesse.

Good quality cleaner and brush. Noticeable different in sound after cleaning.
