I purchased this in March 2023 and it’s held up but could be better. I got it for the Maui trade winds (20 mph plus) and while it’s definitely better than the Tommy Bahama umbrellas you can buy at Costco for $50, this still has its shortcomings. You do you have to buy a base to anchor it in the sand. I also recommend a shovel (a little one from the hardware store) and have a method for anchoring down the actual umbrella for any wind - light or heavy. Buy rope. Get creative.It sits tall and you can’t lower or angle it for the wind. It’s wide and has good coverage. It is heavy and if it’s really windy, it will still blow over (the umbrella part will flip up in the wind).As I write this on March 16, 2025, two of the inner spokes that are plastic have broken and we are duct taping them for the day but it’s toast. Will have to research and find another umbrella. Maybe upgrade to one with metal spokes.Was it worth it? Yes. Could it be made stronger? Yes. Should an umbrella company test their products in the trade winds in Hawaii? Yes.

A fine example of “you get what you pay for!” I was the guy who bought new umbrellas for our pool area every spring. Not this time buddy! I searched for an umbrella that could with stand some high wind, had a quality fabric that would last for years and didn’t have all the mechanical junk that would eventually break. Welp, I found it. One year in and this umbrella looks like the day I bought it. I have created another problem for myself because I am used to just throwing umbrellas out at the end of the season. Now I need to find a place to store them for next season. I will be replacing my other existing umbrellas that I junked at the end of this season with more of this next season! Thank you for delivering quality at an affordable price! Consumers such as myself appreciate getting value from the money we spend and we got it in this product!

So far this has withstood very strong beach winds. It's bigger than my previous Tommy Bahama umbrella, so a bit more to carry from car to beach. Also the umbrella is wider, providing a wider shade area. It's built to last, much better than the TBahama.

This umbrella is phenomenal. This is the second one I purchased it is sturdy strong and easy to carry and put up. However the packaging of it was quite damaged and severely taped over. Luckily it appears that the contents are not damaged. I haven’t opened up the umbrella yet but it appears intact.

Really like this improved umbrella with heavy duty plastic instead of cheap aluminum ribbing supporting the heavy duty canvas. The wooden two piece pole is exactly what I was looking for.Great value, sturdy product. Definitely would recommend.

When I opened the umbrella I noticed the piece that holds the umbrella open was flimsy, cheap looking plastic. I thought, this looks like it won't hold up. I heard a snap and on the floor was part of the piece, broken off. The piece that was still attached to the umbrella was bent, just from opening it. It was thin plastic, not much thicker than a paper clip. Can't believe, anyone would manufacture something this cheap! If it can't hold up in the house, how did they think it would hold up on the beach?!!! Big disappointment. Also, carry bag is too short. The pole sticks out. When carrying it would probably poke someone.

These umbrellas are BEAUTIFUL! Very sturdy and well made. We waited a long time to order them, but I wishwe had gotten them sooner. Can't wait to use them at the beach!!
