Pioneer Photo Albums CLB-257 Black Photo Album

I needed a nice album to hold the growing collection of 5x7 prints of my son we have. My dads girlfriend was a professional photographer & whenever she's in town she takes the *most* amazing photos of my son. While we have going on 4500 photos of our kid at this point (and he's only 18mths old...yeah...we're a bit obsessed), I always get 5x7 prints of the ones she takes since their of super-high quality & always album-worthy. But I get annoyed with the whole vertical-horizontal dilemma I face with most albums, so I was intrigued when I saw this "bi-directional" album.The album is beautiful - high quality, sleek, simple album. The pages are sturdy & I don't feel like I'm going to rip off the sleeve each time I slide a photo in. Each page has a little memo area on the binding side of the page (I never use these, but I imagine since it's on the side with the binding this might make it harder to write on, if you care).The one thing I was a bit disappointed to learn was that description led me to believe it will fit 200 5x7 photo's in a bi-directional format - this is not correct. You can fit 100 vertical or 200 horizontal photos. The wording (at the time I bought this) is as follows:"Patented Bi-Directional pages allow the same pocket to hold horizontal or vertical photos up to 5x7."This should read: ...same pocket to hold *one* vertical or *two* horizontal photos...Each page has a sleeve that will hold two 5x7 horizontal photos (and keep them separated just a bit) or one vertical 5x7 photo.The layout looks great - using the page to fit one vertical doesn't mess with the flow of things (which I thought it might) - so I'm still happy with the product & will probably buy another one when we run out of space with this one. But the description is lacking some basic details & it would be great if they just include the complete information about how many "bi-directional" photos this really holds.______I just now spotted another listing on Amazon for this exact same product - but this listing give a better description AND a photo of the page layout. I've purchased two of these so far but not for pictures, but for my postcard collection. I needed something that could accommodate several sizes. Here is what you need to know before purchasing.1. The outside is good quality. Nice leather look and very sturdy.2. They hold a large amount of photos, postcards, whatever.3. The photo pages are sturdy BUT not the area that separates the photos, there is only a small drop of "glue". If you're going to be constantly taking your photos out and re-organizing them, this isn't the album for you. If you're careful, you shouldn't have a problem, but if you're going to be rough, you're going to tear the plastic pages to shreds and ruin it in no time.4. There is a small strip near the spine that you can write a little something about the photo. There isn't a large amount of space, but enough for date and a little description.I definitely recommend if you would just like to put them away and bring them out to view, not constantly take them out of the sleeve and move them around.

Have you ever noticed how there are hundreds of photo albums advertised on Amazon but only a fraction are actually available. This has been my problem. I was not able to exactly match what I already had but at least these albums are the same size so they look fine on the shelf with the other albums I already have. Note to all photo album manufacturers ... try to have at least a few versions of each size photo album available at all times. Advertise that they will always be available and I am sure you have may happy customers for years to come!

This is a nice album for the price. It is European Bonded Leather with fabric on the inside covers. There is a form to order a gold label on the inside of the cover as well.The pages are the most important part of a photo album, in my opinion. These pages are full pages, not individual pockets. I will add some photo's to help others with future questions. Each page has room for notes and memos along the center side of the page.This is where I subtracted a couple of stars. I took one star away because I was thinking it would have individual pockets for each photo. The page is a plastic covered pocket with a 2" seam on the outer edge to "separate" the pockets - or the two pictures. This does allow for vertical or horizontal pictures though. But it also allows smaller pictures (if you have a mix of sizes like I do) to slide down behind the bottom picture - or fall out of their "pocket" - so minus one more star for that.Overall, it's a nice album. I got it to replace an old one for pictures that are over 40 years old, thus the variety of sizes. It will work for what I'm doing, but I wouldn't have purchased it if I knew that each page was basically one pocket with a tiny seam.

The album has attractive cover and interior pages, strong cover material. However, even when you put picture in carefully into the plastic insert, there is sometimes a slight tear where the plastic adheres to the page. Only seems to happen to the page’s top photo. Hard to find an album this size so there isn’t really an alternative option.

Transferring old photos into albums to clear wall space for new photos. This album was perfect. It fits 5x7 photos and has space to write info about the photos which is great for when it gets handed down - no need to guess who’s who generations later. It fits smaller photos and surprisingly square photos I had! I will be ordering more and recommend.

These photo albums are very beautiful for the cost. I ordered 3 and will be ordering 3-5 more. Love them!

I had many 5x7 home printed photos of events in which my family was involved. This was an excellent means of saving and displaying them.I will judge the durability of the album after I use it for a few years.

There isn’t many 5x7 photo albums out there and that’s ok because this is the one you want! It’s just so nice and has an area on the side to write a note for each picture. I bought this for vintage post cards as post cards are usually bigger than the standard 4x6 albums. It’s just made so well and really worth the money. You won’t be disappointed!

On the start it looks nice the leather is ok on the outside looks nice. The inside ok for 5x7 photos. If you want to put larger photos in the plastic tears from the sides very easily. The paper sticks to the clear film so all your photos will have a large white strip in the middle of them. Not very good for larger pictures.

La livraison de ce produit a été excellente, nous l'avons reçu en moins de 48 heures. Le format est bon. Cependant, le plastique protégeant les photos est très fragile, il faut y insérer délicatement les photos à l'intérieur sinon le plastique déchire à l'endroit où c'est collé. J’achèterais de nouveau ce produit seulement s'il est en solde à 15$.

Only bad thing I have to way is about the smell. Right out the box the album smelled really weird. Still really like it as it holds sooo much photos.
