Bought for a 2014 ram 1500, took it to a local locksmith and they were able to program it in under 10 minutes for $45. Dealership wanted 300 for a new key.

Great Product

This is a great remote that you can get for a fraction of the price of the dealer one. I paid $50 to have it programmed - so by the time I was done I was into it for like $75 but the dealer wanted over $300 for their version - which only has a slightly higher range and reliability than the offbrand version. Super functional. I dont regret buying.

I called around to various "locksmiths, and car dealerships. Most warned me that these fobs often don't program. So I bought this one that claimed to be an OEM and had a much higher rating.All but one of the key programming entities tried to switch me over to their $300 option. The ONE that didn't try to is the one I took my fob to have programmed. It was a small town Dodge dealer, and they programmed the fob as well as ground the "spare key" inside the fob for $40!It worked! Now I'm expecting to find the old spare key I lost to show up anytime now!

You must pay dealer $140 to program this fob. You can not use or follow any instructions to program this fob to work. Also weather it works or not you must pay the dealer to see IF it will work. Mine did work but for how long is unknown

I bought a used 2018 Ram 1500 and it came with only 1 key fob. I bought this to have a 2nd. You can NOT program it yourself for a 2018. I used a local locksmith (Pop-A-Lock) who came out and programmed it and cut the tailgate key for $125. All this was about half of what the dealer would charge. I'm happy and would do it again.

I ordered one and then ordered another. These have the real transducer that allows the vehicle to be started when the battery in the key is dead. Got mine programmed at Batteries +. Two keys, with programming, for less than the cost of an unprogrammed key elsewhere.Beware of the aftermarket keys with a chip in place of the transducer.
