A long time Shark subscriber - basically replacing our Shark every 6 mths (very heavy usage), with three failure points - the handle breaks (@ the swivel joint), the drive brush jams (requiring dis-assembly & cleaning), and finally the motor drive gear wears out. We also need a low height device to reach under racks. The latest gen Shark is too tall to fit anymore. This is basically a first gen Shark with many of the above issues significantly improved. I suspect this is made in the same 1st gen Shark factory in China (i.e. expired NDAs,etc.). The performance is identical to the Shark, so far. The corner brush is a joke, as are all such, but the main pickup brush works great. The collection reservoir is larger (double the volume!) than any Shark, which is a big plus. I like the inspection/cleanout window for the drive belt - good to see when its time to dump the lint. Update 2015/04/20: We have purchased 4 of these, and all four have failed to function. The same failure has occurred to all four units, i.e. the brush will no longer turn, even though the motor is spinning (and the unit is screaming loudly). Upon dis-assembly, the tension on the drive belt is very very low - Can it be fixed? See the first fix in the attached photo. Basically some shims were slipped into place as shown to increase the belt tension. These shims are small pieces of old steel banding material, which stack up to about 1/8" inch. Will update in 6 more months.

I picked up the Cordless Sweeper to help clean my apartment, since I have a lot of hardwood floors and linoleum. I was attracted by the simple design and the fact that I wouldn't have to keep it plugged in like my vacuum.The Cordless Sweeper comes in a small box, and is quite lightweight. Assembly is pretty simple and goes fast, I didn't even need to use the directions. The materials seemed a bit flimsy at first but held up just fine under use, so I'm not worried about it long term. It also came charged, so I was able to use it right away!Actual use is pretty much the same as a regular vacuum; you turn it on (large button on the top) and off you go. It has a spinning wheel with brushes that sweeps up dust and dirt into a removable pan. Since it is rechargeable and has a pan you can empty, it's fairly eco friendly (you aren't throwing out stuff like you would with a Swiffer or similar tool).It's fairly effective, but not amazing. Larger dust bunnies or bits of paper and the like tend to spit out the sides, or require multiple passes to pick up. Since it is so lightweight, it is easy to twist or torque it (or even pick it right up off the ground) without meaning to. The low profile of the unit means it can get under some cabinets, but nothing terribly deep (the handle will get in the way). I also would not use it on carpet.The Cordless Sweeper is easy to assemble and cheap. I'd say this is a decent alternative to a broom and dustpan, but it won't replace your vacuum for serious cleaning.

This is a great cordless sweeper, but please do not throw your broom away or think that it can replace a regular vacuum. I use this to clean up after my toddler who leaves crumbs of food, pebbles, leaves and all kinds of other little things all over the floors. It does a great job. It's also great on door mats and bathroom rugs. But it doesn't get the fine dust and dirt and hairs that get trapped in corners and under baseboards, you need a regular broom or vacuum for that. While it works well on flat industrial carpet it does not work well on regular house carpeting it's too thick for it to run over it. Overall this does exactly what I expected it to do I'm only giving it 4 stars because it's a little louder than I hoped to be but for the price I'm very happy.

I found that you can pick up almost anything with this. My test was when I picked up the bird seeds on tile floor from my 6 birds in one big cage and it actually picked them up. Keep in mind that hulled seeds are extremely light and the full ones can be heavy, same as the pellets, but it did a good job. It also picked up the cat litter around the litter box and tons of cat hair from carpet under the bed. The thing I had a hard time with was the feathers that tend to fly up at any air movement, which is not the fault of the sweeper, because it is not a vacuum, but just a sweeper, as advertised. For the bad reviews that say that it has bad suction, well...of course it has bad and NO suction, because it's NOT a vacuum, but just a sweeper. It has no horsepower, just a tiny motor that turns the brush and pushes the dirt into the trash holder. The price was 1/3 the price of other sweepers and for that I gave it another star.

This is an exact knock off of an earlier Shark product. I would not doubt it if they used the old moulds from the Shark factory. I have compared it side to side with the Shark that died after a good life. The plastic appears to be lighter weight on the knock off. The motor does not seem to have as much zip as the other unit, but maybe that's just my imagination. Hopefully, between the two units I can have enough parts to keep a good unit going. Otherwise, I'm just going to make the other unit into a corded unit somehow.

I used it twice thought it was going to be great ! Than I'm handicap. So use it very easy than handle plastic on bottom fell to pieces like it was old. And brittle! I really wish I could say different or a new one to try. But I'm sure out question. Plus like I say. No way send back. But I love it very light weight. Really thought I had great small light weight I could use. Why make things so cheap made. Sorry if I disappointed any one.

As a lazy 25 year old male, I'm always looking to cut corners with cleaning around my house. My roommates and I tend to leave crums all over the living room floor and we get negative feedback from guests because of it (haters gunna hate). Finally, I decided enough was enough and took a chance on this product. I must say, it's great. Easy to use. Easy to charge. And guess what? It cleans up all the crums. I just press the button with my foot and it cleans away. For the price, I'd say this product is a bargain.
