Ear-shattering, not as tough as advertised
TL;DR:Outstanding customer service, definitely as loud as advertised, not as tough as advertised, terrible ease of use and accuracy, but I'm still buying my third one today. Five stars only on the basis that the alarm actually wakes me up. I'm also a cheapskate who's used a fully-functioning, but busted, alarm for almost 5 years.Customer Service:I bought my first Screaming Meanie in 2014, which was replaced by the company for apparently some defect that mine didn't even have that I knew of. First time I've ever gotten a warranty replacement on a product that hadn't broken yet, so I give customer service absolute top notch. A few months later, and sure enough, my original quit working, and I moved to the replacement.Loudness:I'm a ridiculously heavy sleeper most of the time. My baby cries and I'm up instantly, but I swear a car could crash through my bedroom wall and I wouldn't notice. This thing (most of the time) wakes me up. I've slept through it going off, which it does for a whole hour, a few times. This results in a headache that won't go away for hours, and a ringing in your ears that's really, really terrible. So, the product does absolutely perform the task that I bought it for, and does so quite well.Toughness:Unfortunately, the "built to withstand a 30 foot drop" claim is pretty overstated. I knocked mine off my desk onto a wood laminate floor and quite a bit of the plastic around the battery compartment shattered. Because the alarm worked so well, I've used it with the battery flopping out of it for nearly 5 years now. It took about 4 years for the wires to finally start breaking on the 9V battery plug, and I've slowly chewed away at the wire over the past year, pinching it to the battery to keep the alarm working. The alarm finally officially died last night. The board with the buttons for activating the alarm finally broke loose from the face of the clock, and sunk into the inside of the device. I'm considering rehousing it into a custom-made container and continuing to use it... I really like that this thing wakes me up, and it's the only alarm that I've ever found that does so as well as it does.Ease of Use/Functionality/Accuracy:All complete crap. Easily the worst functionality, accuracy, and ease of use in any device I've ever used. The clock slowly loses time and is never accurate. The alarm never goes off when you've set it, but goes off some arbitrary number of minutes prior to when it should - some time within 15 minutes before the time you set. The two-button combo required to activate the alarm only works if the switch is also set to "Alarm" instead of "Clock" and sometimes activates "Beacon" mode instead of activating the alarm, which just instantly sets off the alarm, which wakes the entire house if you go to bed later than your kids and stuff. The three-button combo required to turn the alarm off is equally unreliable, and often has to be pressed multiple times to get the alarm shut off, while your entire family yells at you to turn it off. The alarm time has to be reset from the current time every time you want to use it, it doesn't save the last time you had the alarm set for.

This thing will wake the dead
Bought this due to 8 alarm clocks not being enough (3 bell clocks, 4 digital beepers and clock radio and 15 phone alarms) I had trouble waking up due to being a dead sleeper. Yes an IED could go off outside the house and I wouldnt wake up. I knew I had to do something. I found this screaming box and saw everyone saying how incredible it is, and man they didnt kid around on this one. I got the green see thru one, took a second to figure out how to set it up. You have to set the alarm on it every single time you set it, like enter in the time to wake up everytime. Its got 3 levels of jam in her. 1 is kinda barely audible, 2 is about as loud as your average cheap beeper clock and 3 being extremely piercingly loud. Its loud enough to feel the soundwaves in your head from across the room. I have never slept in since I got this clock. When this thing goes off, it is with every inch of your life to shut this thing off.....how do you shut it off? Hold one button and press 2 others at the same time, but if you want to snooze it for 5 minutes, theres a key button that snoozes it before it lights back up at you. The buttons and sliders on the side are nice because you cant just slide them very easily, theyre recessed level with the sizes so you have to work to slide them, which you have to be awake, so if your fighting this thing to shut it off, well its doing its job and very well at it. Oh you one of them violent ones in the AM??? This thing could survive a few days in a ballistics lab with its very hard plastic thats very hard to break. I threw mine hard enough to put a hole in my drywall and it survived. Thats why the battery has padding in it, the makers of this thing know whats up, battery door has some slip to it too, but its job is to wake you up and get your heart rate going and by the time you flake out and have a mental breakdown from it sending waves at your ears, the entire house or complex will be up too. Definitely worth buying. I love this thing. Its just great.

Awesome for heavy sleepers and people with irregular schedules
I actually had the 110 for years, and wanted to get a second one to be a backup alarm. I found the 120 and chose it for the intermediate alarm volume. I am glad I upgraded.I have to confess, I am using this as a countdown alarm almost exclusively. I'd rather do the math when I am awake and setting the alarm instead of when it goes off and I wake up. The operation doesn't seem intuitive at first, but you learn very quickly how to use it and which buttons to push. The fact that you need to think about it just a little and make sure that you are pressing the proper combination helps you wake up a little when you are turning off the alarm or, as I do all the time, resetting it for an extra five minutes while only half awake. A regular alarm feature is available if you have a regular schedule and get up at the same time every day. I don't so the countdown timer makes more sense for me.Unlike the 110, this model has the intermediate alarm volume which you will hear and which probably won't upset your neighbors. This has always been a concern for me with the louder setting on the 110. I think the 120 feels more solid and the action on the buttons feels more polished. The size is a little larger than the 110, but it isn't very noticeable. This uses a 9-volt battery, and the battery life is good. Having the built-in tester/light button is great though.I love this thing and would buy another in a heartbeat. The one flaw I've found is that the battery test indicator is just below the screen and is bright. The little LCD screen will illuminate like an Indiglo watch dial when you press the top button, but the battery test light is so bright I can't ever make out the information on the screen. If I could deduct just half a star for this I would, but I can't, and I feel the quality and performance are so good that deducting one full star would be misleading. If you want a countdown alarm, get this. If you are trying to decide between this one and the 110, get this one ... definitely worth the extra 5-10 dollars.
