Wonderful Insects Coloring Book

The artwork in this coloring book is lovely, I think it really captures the natural beauty of insects while complementing them with patterns that are fun to color. I haven't had much chance to color in here unfortunately, but the coloring I did do was relaxing and easy. I don't know how much I can comment on the paper quality since I don't have much experience with different papers, but I don't believe the paper in this book is low-quality. I don't know how it would handle wet media because I just use colored pencils (Prismacolors).I greatly enjoy that many kinds of insects are pictured in the book. I'm very excited to color the leafcutter ant page, it looks so cool and I just adore ants. If you're looking for a book filled with butterflies and ladybugs and moths, then maybe this one isn't for you. There are a lot of beetles, wasps, flies, roaches, and others. But I'm excited to one day color all of them in. I think the flies would look wonderful colored a sort of iridescent blue-green.

i really loved this one from the moment i opened it. the artists obviously harbour great love for insects and nature.... each image is unique and appealing in its own way.one thing that really impressed me:many people say they love animals. but then they eat meat or step on cockroaches. few people can open their hearts to include those beings whom we have been taught to hate. or only to "use".. like cockroaches. i for one, had to live with them in new york and i came to make peace with... and finally to love them.i was SO impressed with this artist bc s/he includes them in several very beautiful drawings. most people would leave them out.so that won me over completely. i have had no end of joy with this book. my wish is that i could find more by this artist.thank you!!

I had seen this coloring book and had in my "wait list" for almost a year. I am so glad that I finally purchased it as it has succeeded my hopes. The artist draws realistic insects, sometimes on plants, sometimes just the 'faces" of species like Ants or Beetles. I have been a fan of insects and spiders since childhood and even kept Tarantulas that I would take to various Elementary schools in the San Francisco Bay Area for a "show and tell" of 4th graders (about 9 years old). Most teachers had read to their classes the book "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White at that age ( still read it myself at almost 60 years old.) I would then bring in a few of these tarantulas for the boys and girls to see and touch if they wanted to, it was girls who were more interested in touching these giant spiders than the boys at that age! Anyhow - back to this under appreciated coloring book - beautiful quality artwork, good paper, drawn by a talented artist, a win-win book! I also have everything (CreateSpace printed coloring books here on Amazon & her Artist printed collections on Etsy) that RubyCharms (Susan Carlson) creates and she has many lovely and whimsical insect art, this is another book for people who enjoy well drawn and beautiful art. Highly recommend to anyone, I think that colored pencils will work best in this book as the pages are printed on both sides.

I bought this for my 12 y/o niece and am jealous honestly haha, beautiful patterns for kids or adults!

The variety and detail.

Lovely. Very unique. Lots of detail, and unusual subject matter. A few critters that might not be for everyone (for me, I love them), but plenty of botanicals and butterflies to make up for it if other bugs aren't your thing. It is printed on both sides of the page, if that is something that concerns you. Pages are pleasantly thick. Great for sharp colored pencils!

I am surprised at how much I like this book. Images are great, lines are not too faint or heavy, and paper quality is good. Wish it was printed on only one side of the paper to be able to use alcohol markers without ruining the image on the other side of the page. I will stick to dry and water based media and I am sure I will still have a lot of fun with this book.

Beautiful illustrations, presented in artful patterns. For the squeamish, you should know there are a few pages containing larvae, cockroaches, and bed bugs. Because I like to sleep soundly, I removed those pages. Ha! Plenty of other gorgeous ones to enjoy!

My insect loving great grandson, was very excited to receive this colouring book. Perfect for adults and children alike. Very detailed drawings of insects
