In-line volume control for speakers can be built using all Amazon.com available components
I have a pair of high-end speakers in my living room. I have another pair of (smaller) speakers for my 'rear speakers'. My rear speakers and smaller and require less power to reach higher volumes (decibel rating). I needed to find a way to control the rear speaker volume. I searched Amazon.com for a compatible unit that I could use to control rear speaker volume, but didn't find anything that would fit my need. I decided I could build a in-line volume control box using all Amazon products, i.e. volume control, female banana jacks, male banana jumper cables and the 3=gang electrical box. Bottom line -it works, and all the components needed were found on Amazon.com.

Slightly tight to install speaker wire but product works great
I installed this to control speakers on my porch. The terminal where the speaker wire connects is a pretty tight fit for the most common 14AWG speaker wire. Nevertheless, I was able to get the speakers connected and am very happy with the performance.

Works well
Works well. Be better if it had infinite adjustment instead of steps, but I knew that going in. Also the ports where the wires go in are pretty small and I stripped out one of the screws because my wires were to thick. Good for the price though and does its job. Looks good and seems well made.

Perfect remote speaker volume control
This inexpensive solution to control external extended speakers volume works very well. The 150watt wattage provides for more then enough power. In this application we are using an older Panasonic receiver with a single volume control for both main and remote speakers. This arrangement provided no ability to control the volume independently between sets of speakers. The Pyle provided the solution. The controls are notched providing ample range and adjustment to meet the needs of two sets of speakers. One set, the main, are using the volume control of the receiver and the second set, (remote) wired through the Pyle, are adjusted to achieve the desired fade/balance between the two sets. In this situation the two sets of speakers are not matched in that the remote set is more efficient(loud) and this Pyle controller provides the ability to reduce the volume(fade) providing main/remote balance in the room. Once the (Fade) is set between the two sets of speakers the main volume allows for balanced volume up/down control. Great solution I'm delighted listening to classic music in my workshop!

Speaker A & Speaker B Meaning This Controls (2) Speakers. NOT (2) Pairs of Speakers.
Most volume controls have (1) knob that controls (1) pair of speakers. This v/c has (2) knobs, (1) for each speaker. AWESOME if you want a speaker in your kitchen louder or software on one side than the other. -That's GREAT.- BUT this unit is advertised as a volume control for (2) pairs of speakers. In order to do that correctly, it would need (16) terminals. +&- for A Left In +&- for A Right In +&- for A Left Out +&- for A Right Out +&- for B Left In +&- for B Right In +&- for B Left Out +&- for B Right Out ! This unit only has (8) terminals. A In / Com / Com / Out B In / Com/ Com / Out 70 Volt / 100 Volt Commercial Systems Often use a Com in & Out. *Therefore, if this was advertised correctly, it should at least say something such as 2-Zone Volume Control for Commercial 70 / 100 Volt systems. *NOT 70 / 100 Watt systems- 70 / 100 Volt systems like many retail stores and restaurants. Regardless, this volume control ABSOLUTELY is NOT designed to operate (2) independent stereo pairs of speakers. Because that is how it is listed, and the product doesn't at all do what it is listed as capable of doing, the review is 1-star. *I bought mine (3) years ago and the description hasn't changed. Oops on someone. --- "Pyle in Wall Speaker Volume Control - Home Audio Smart 2-Channel A/B Dual Channel Speakers Controller Selector Pod Box - Rotary Knob Fader Control Up to (2) Pair of Indoor or Outdoor Speakers PVCD15"

Good concept and price but didn't last long
My first one came all pock marked, like it had been stabbed a hundred times with a compass (which Amazon replaced for me). The next one lasted a year before one of the channels blew. It's 's shame because it was a great price and the only in-wall dual volume control I could find at all. It was great while it lasted, I was using it to switch an indoor pair of speakers with an outdoor pair for zone two of a receiver. Being able to control the volumes of these adjacent rooms was great. Now I've replaced it with the Niles push button version which is basically speakers off or on (no volume control: but handles more wattage). One other thing I didn't like about it was there were no screw caps to cover the two screws though I think judging by pictures there is a bit of American switch gear like that? And the screws were awful and unusable, there was far too much thread on them and I could get it started. Just used my own. The wires were fiddley and much thinner than speaker wire most people will use which means crimping them is a little frustrating, you'll probably want to find another solution to join them.

Arrived faulty but fixable
It arrived with one of the plastic knobs stripped. One knob worked fine, the other turned freely without adjusting the audio. I fixed it by removing the knob and spreading the metal "thing?" That the plastic knob attaches to, slightly apart and then I forced the knob back on, now it works fine
