Great Shock Absorbers
It is amusing to me that the last time I got a pair of these shocks was for my first car in high school... decades ago. This review in particular is for the latest pair I just put on my 1995 2WD Tacoma pickup, and the specific model KYB KG4752 are for the front. I think these are excellent, high quality gas-charged shock absorbers based on my experience.Pros:* Quality - This is tops, for me. When it comes to shocks that last over time, without leaks or loss of performance, these excel. Believe it or not, I still have the car I had in high school and it still has those original KYBs - over 30 years later. They've not leaked a drop of oil and they damp and rebound responsively. The new shocks I just put on my pickup have the same fit and finish, and I expect they also will perform similarly. These will probably be the last pair of shock absorbers I put on the truck.* Performance - I have always liked the performance of these KYB monotube shocks. To me, they tend to ride a bit stiff-legged which, in my opinion, is just perfect for smaller cars with sporty intentions and small to medium size pickups. These tend more to the performance end of the spectrum rather than comfort. While they are outstanding at sopping up big dips and bumps in the road and really help keep the car flat when braking and in turns, they let you feel the smaller stuff, giving you a better sense of the road. While some may not like this, I prefer it, especially in my pickup. They handle loads very well, smoothing out the ride as the load increases; when the truck is empty, these KYBs really keep the tires in contact with the road. The ones on the front really improve the handling of my pick-up.* Cost - It is surprising to me that these cost as little as they do given how long they last and level of their quality. This represents large bang for the buck, however, for the difference in ride they make and their expected length of service.Cons:* NoneOther ThoughtsHardware is included depending on the vehicle application. They use rubber bushings for their mounts; as long as these last and as responsive as they are, I think they would benefit from firmer bushings, like urethane. I expect the bushing will wear out long before the internal seals do.Depending on the ride you are looking for, these may or may not be the ones for you. There are shocks out there that will give a softer ride, but will also allow more dipping and sway. If you like a stiffer, more responsive ride, these may be the shocks for you. I am impressed with these and can recommend them unequivocally. Five stars!

Special washer is missing and I had to use a washer from old shock absorber.
Installation instructions are very low quality. There is no upper mounting cap which is described. 3 washers instead of 4. Bad paint quality. Stickers are facing inwards instead of outwards. No information about warranty. It is obvious that it is Made In China:(

1991 Toyota pickup base model 22re factory wheels and tires
Just installed two of these shocks on the front of my little truck and it made a huge difference on the ride . I will say the two I took off were completely toast as they were factory units and the truck has 282,000 miles on it . I can't speak for longevity ,we will see how they hold up.I Installed these myself in my driveway ,Put truck up on jack stands ,removed wheels ,removed old shocks , installed top of shock in it's position ,and used a bottle jack to compress shock to install bottom bolts . A person will also have to pre-compress shock if you don't have truck high enough to get it under suspension and get it through A arm hole were you dropped the old shock out of .

They are stiff
As one reviewer said, they are very stiff. A bumpy road is still bumpy. It takes a lot of weight to compress them, I used safety wire to keep them compressed to install them. I had a wheel off balance and my truck would bounce when I got past 55 mph. Recently I set off a roadside speed limit warning device that told me I was going 78

Really stiff
These are really stiff for a 98 2 door tacoma. Getting them to compress was a real pain. I couldn't even do it with a bottle jack had to use all my body weight and then connect zip ties all the way around. Total PITA. They are good shocks but probably better on a heavier truck not a small 2 door tacoma. I think these would work better and give a smoother ride.....only a $ more: KYB 343209 Excel-G Gas Shock

Decent replacement, not performance or racing obviously.
Easy replacement on my Toyota Tacoma. Fixed my issues as part of maintenance after 200,000 miles. On my truck you can remove this without doing anything at all to the springs, it slides out the bottom nicely. Took like 45 minutes from start to finish to replace both sides.

Work on 2000 2WD Tacoma
Shocks worked great on 2000 Tacoma 5 lug 2WD. Easy to replace though you will need a bottle jack or some way to push them up to be able to tighten upt the bolts.

Perfect factory replacements
Got 2 of these delivered and restored my 1998 Toyota Tacoma 2wd ride back to factory! Price is great and installation was a breeze. Seen some complaints about it being way too stiff for a small truck but it rides great in my opinion.
