LED PL-L Lamp, 2G11 LED Tube Light Bulb, 9W 6000K Daylight Replacement for 18W 4-Pin 2G11 Base PL-L Linear Compact Fluorescent Lamp(CFL), Remove or Bypass Ballast

This light is even better than the fluorescent type that the lamp manufacturer originally furnished. It provides high quality features such as a brighter light, no mercury to worry about, and a safer housing that appears to be unbreakable. I am no longer concerned about breaking a glass envelope. The LEDs produce very little heat. I did have to replace the electric plug and step down transformer with a plain two prong plug and remove an electronic component from inside the lamp housing to convert the lamp from fluorescent power supply to standard line voltage power. The included wiring diagram made the job easier. That is a one time only task. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

I needed to find a new light bulb for our laser engraver machine and searching around I found many replacements available at a wide range in price. When I found this LED version of the original CFL with the 2G11 base I thought why not try it. The LED is not that hard to install, with a simple socket re-wire so that the ballast is eliminated it turned right on. For me the wiring was easily accessible which made the conversion possible to do in a matter of minutes. My machine had an access panel that removed providing me with plenty of room to work and change the wiring. Simply by-pass the ballast providing 110V to the out side pins, leave the two center pins disconnected and that's it. The LED fits perfect in the holder and socket and is plenty bright enough to light up the entire print bed.The overall construction seems to be pretty good.I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again if need be, however I am looking forward to years of service from this LED that will probable outlast the laser machine.

Turned out to not be an exact fit for my Ott Light replacement. Instructions were a little sketchy and with the Ott had to do some serious figuring out. In the end, it worked! Have not yet used it a lot but it does light up my work space way better than the old floro tube did.

I got this to transform my 18watt Ott Light into an LED lamp. This involved cutting off the heavy ballast box plug at the end of the cord and the starter (inside the lamp head) by cutting the 2 wires ( mine were white and in the middle) I had to open up the lamp area of the light to do this. Then I put a new regular plug on my lamp cord ( buy at hardware store or lamp shop) . It worked perfectly!I admit that I watched a YouTube video to make sure I understood what the paperwork was saying . You have to remove the starter AND-the ballast not OR the ballast as the paperwork says. But if you are in to do it yourself type projects it is always wise to double check especially when working with electrical objects.

fits perfectly in my Ott light 18 watt fixture very bright and the value is excellent. As a sewer and a crafter I have quite a few Ott lights and found that the replacement bulbs are very expensive....these lights are brighter, cooler and less than half the cost! What is not to love!

This was easy to install and much brighter then the 18w pl bulb my ottlite came with! Would buy again. Good quality led bulb and lots cooler (temperatures wise) then the old pl bulb.

Good price compared to other sources. Amazing less than 1 day (16 hours from order to arrival) delivery by Amazon. Fitted my lamp, even though the lamp it was replacing had cut outs in the plastic base, and the balast was a plug transformer I just cut off and fitted a 3 pin plug. When switched on provides a very bright perfect reading light from my Otlight floor standing reading lamp!

Switching from an 18w fluorescent bulb to an 9w LED was a no-brainer and it surprised me how much brighter the LED is. Instructions are thorough and easy to read. Installed new LED bulb in seconds and it powers up immediately. No hesitation like a fluorescent. Highly recommend this product!
