Rituel de Fille Forbidden Lipstick - Moisturizing Semi-Matte, Fortune Teller

Oh my! I transitioned to all clean makeup and beauty over the past year, but really has a hard time finding a lipstick that I liked. I ordered this and wore for a day before my wedding and it lasted so long. It was still on after saying and drinking, and the texture was hydrating and creamy. Color is hard to beat. I wore it the day of my wedding and only reapplied once in 7 hours!! It’s on in every single photo of me!! I will define ordering more colors. Fits EWG clean beauty standards and is non toxic.

This makeup line has the greatest name ever, so I had to try it, and its all natural! I hesitated between two lipstick shades and went with "shadow self" because a couple of reviews said it was a shimmery lilac purple. I probably read it wrong, remembered it wrong, or am color blind because this is a very, very dark blue/purple. I would call it indigo. It is a wonderful color, but went with my fair pinkish skin like a bad bruise. It also makes my teeth look yellow, and they are are not white as snow, but still....Anyway, I gave this five stars because it is a GREAT lipstick. It goes on smoothly, it does not feel thick or gross, it stays in place without drying your lips out and is very easy to apply. I plan to buy more colors and maybe use this one as a eye cream or try mixing it with other lipsticks. I can't blame the color for being dark. I think that on a very dark complexion it would be intoxicating! It really is an amazing color, even if it isn't right on me.Definitely try this line, worth the price, which is low for such a quality product.

Very deep red. So dark, it's almost black, but it is beautiful! My only complaint is that is darker than what the picture makes it look. But I still love it! One application is all you need for full color. Does not stain once you take it off. Nice and creamy. Got it two days after ordering! I am happy!

I am not always a huge fan of lipsticks that transfer easily (I tend to eat and drink a lot, apparently), the formula and the color (fortune teller) are too incredible to resist! The color is a really dark red with a hint of purple almost. It is hydrating and goes on smoothly. I notice that it applies better when you use then go over it with a lip brush to smooth it out. This one does not smell too much of lavender the way some of their other products do. I would say it doesn't really smell much at all. I would give it a 4.5/5 just because it transfers when you give some one a kiss or take a sip of water. Totally worth it though. Packaging is also excellent. I would recommend going to their website to get their advice on what would go best for you! I found that their advice is golden!Update: Fortune teller is a beautiful rich red that I have also been using to line my eyes with and it is gorgeous! I continually get complements. I also have the lipstick in Oracle. I was a bit skeptical about getting a nude because they usually wash me out or make me look like an orange. This one is magically a perfect nude! I have tried all sorts of other brands (hence the skepticism), and this blows everything out of the water.

I wanted to love this lipstick - but I can't because it is way too thick and does not matte without becoming splotchy. I can't tell the color anymore because it's half gone by the time you get it not looking totally garish. It is also 0% moisturizing, and does not stay on for any length of wear.

This is such a lovely lip color! It's a darker rose perfect for winter with my pale skin and dark hair. It does run on the dryer side. I highly recommend a lip balm underneath, but it also has great staying power because of that. Plus, the packaging is so pretty and witchy. I love it!

I love this lipstick! It's a really nice, thick, creamy formula that stays put really well. It's slightly moisturizing and doesn't settle into the lines of the lips. The slim tube is lovely and allows for nice, precise application. Hex is a beautiful, unique color. I will definitely be purchasing another Rituel de Fille lipstick- it's easily the best non-liquid lipstick formula I've ever used.Edit: I am updating this review to reflect a second color I received as a sample to review- the second color is Written in Blood, and is also quite lovely. I do find it a bit more finicky to apply than Hex, and it really benefits from a lip primer and or liner. It's also quite a bit darker on than the product image here shows. I recommend looking up swatches before purchasing based on this image alone. I'm still quite a fan of Rituel de Fille and will likely purchase more of their lip colors. I would give Written in Blood specifically four stars rather than five based on the way it applied.

I really like this brand, but I returned this lipstick. From the description I was expecting a flushed, warm “my lips but better” shade. For me, it was a bright berry mauve. Staying power was average for a matte-ish cream formula, but it doesn’t claim to be long lasting. The formula feels nice on, it’s not thick or heavy but it is pigmented. The tube/amount of product was on the small size for the price. As much as I like to support smaller brands, $28 was just too much for this IMO. I can find a dozen drugstore lipsticks in this same color with the same performance.
