Very Pleased! Works Well for Occasional Ironing
I don't iron much. My husband buys those wrinkle-free, non-iron button-down shirts - which really do work! - so I only occasionally have to touch one up. Sometimes I have to iron a button-down shirt for my little boy, and every now and then my daughter does a craft project that involves some ironing. I never bother ironing sheets. We were living with my parents, and just recently we got our own place, which meant buying our own iron and ironing board. With ironing being a relatively infrequent activity, I really didn't want to invest the money in a full-sized ironing board, and anyway, I wasn't sure where we could put one.I stumbled upon this item on Amazon, and I love it! Our family room is carpeted, and for me, it's actually quite comfortable to set this board up directly on the carpet and sit cross-legged while ironing. Sure beats standing while ironing. With the TV on, I dare say I wouldn't even mind if I had more ironing to do.The steel rods are very sturdy. It's super easy to unfold and "lock" into place, and the whole board feels perfectly stable while I'm ironing.A few of the other reviews mentioned that the padding is too thin, but for my ironing purposes, it's fine. I have not noticed any marks from any underlying metal underneath the padding. But again, I really only do "light" ironing. It does have a built-in iron rest, but I never use it. Not because it doesn't work, but because I am just in the habit of always resting the iron on its heel, which works fine for me, and I just never think to use the iron rest.UPDATE 9/29/2014: I continue to use this ironing board for my occasional ironing needs, and it has held up beautifully. Since it's smaller than a full-sized ironing board, I've now gotten into the habit of using the built-in iron rest. It works! No complaints.

Love it, so convenient!
We moved to an apartment, where space is at a premium. I purchased this because it could easily hang on the back of the laundry room door next to a hanging laundry container, making it convenient to use and taking up virtually no space. It sets up very quickly, swings into it's using position easily and the support quickly snaps onto the base to stabilize it. The iron rest is a bit wobbly, but works OK. Unlike other boards where the padding was actually a kind of foam, this one was fiber, but somewhat thin. So I went to the store and bought a small piece of thin fiberfill padding for less than $2 that was large enough to completely cover the board, trimmed it to the shape of the board and placed it under the cover. This was the perfect (and cheap) solution and now I don't get marks from the pattern on the metal mesh when ironing thin material. Another feature I like is that this is lightweight, due to the fact that the board itself is a metal mesh instead of the very heavy pressed board that many are made of.I'm very pleased with my choice and will be purchasing another for our vacation condo. I would have rated this with a full 5 stars had it had the thicker padding under the cover when I purchased it.

Well built and works like a charm. Great for those with limited space
It's really been ages since I have been tied down to ironing a lot of stuff. I tend to by wrinkle free button down shirts that come out of the dryer nice and crisp when needed. Still, I had some pants that needed some touch ups so I had to give in to the thought of getting an iron and ironing board again. I decided to skip the full size ironing board and go for this table top version. I am glad I did ... it totally does the trick and collapses nicely to fit into a small space for storage. I especially like the chrome iron rest at the end so that I don't have to take a chance of putting a hot iron on my table.I have to say that I was initially looking for a full sized ironing board and bought one (for about $70) that was delivered and was defective - some welding had come undone. The reviews for full-sized boards were so mixed that it was hard to consider to buy another one sight unseen. This little one caught my eye. This is a great option for people who might have limited space or do limited ironing. Works like a charm and is well built.

Not Fully Functional
I am disappointed with this product. The metal frame of the ironing board is slightly off, and therefore the platform that holds the iron at the back of the ironing board will not extend. I really need an ironing board and this is usable, but it is not in the shape it was described as being in. I believe there are probably better options out there in a similar price range. I won’t be sending it back because I need it and the board itself functions. But I am disappointed that there is no place to rest the iron.

HANDY FOR QUICK JOBS
After searching the internet and reading numerous reviews, this is the table top ironing board I chose. It is light weight and used for quick pressing of garments as I sew them; seams, darts, collars, etc. I prefer a well padded board so added more padding and a new cover. Small elastic suspenders keep the cover firmly in place. There is a metal bar that keeps the board folded and a device to hang it on a door for storage. A metal rack that slides out at the end of the board is available to rest your iron on.Pros and cons: the ironing board is light, it slides around on the table. I use either a non-skid pad (used under throw rugs) or bath towel to stabilize the board. The slide out iron rack does not feel sturdy enough to hold the iron and concern that the weight of the iron may tip the board. This board will not replace my full size, old fashioned, heavy wooden board for actual ironing. Shirts and dresses overwhelm the size of this board. Am I glad I bought it? YES, would I buy it again? YES. It is perfect for sewing projects.

Convenient!
I was looking for an ironing board that didn't take up too much space, and this was perfect. Easily hung it on my closet door. The reason why I gave it only 4 stars is because the hang hardware kind of bends, but that's because my door is a little bit smaller. Overall great price and functionality!
