Dedicated to Butch Trucks and now Gregg Allman
The Fox Box 53 tracks recorded over three nights in September 2004, the box contains essence of southern rock from one of the founding groups. The band is essentially the last line up of the band Gregg Allman, Jaimoe, Butch Trucks from the 1st line up plus Butch's Nephew Derek Trucks on lead and slide, Warren Haynes lead, slide and vocals Otiel Burridge on Bass and Marc Quinones on percussion, plus guests over each night including Susan Tedeschi, Jack Pearson, Vaylor Trucks, and Rob Baracco arguably this is one of the creative peaks for this line up and probably why this was released. "Dreams" is the only song that is repeated from the 53 tracks in the box set. It appears three times, however a different guitar soloist – Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Jack Pearson (uncredited on the sleeve but mentioned By Gregg on the disc) – is featured in each instance. The Music is First rate and the mastering and mixing I think gives a better finish than the original 'Instant Live' CD's from the time I have the 25th Show to cross reference.A lot of the 'dead air' has been mixed out bring the shows a sharper more polished feel. The Thing that lets this set down and which given the price means I do have to deduct a point is the packaging, a simple slip case around what has become standard card disc holder, with minimal notes on the shows much of the notes duplicated across the three releases, thing in total two sides of a CD cover in quite small writing, gives this a slightly rushed look.Still its the music which counts and this is great so as a fan I am 100% happy with the release and await more.

Worth Every Penny !!
Great set enhanced, for me, by the enthusiasm and involvement of the audience. Only a couple of numbers played more than once so there are several hours of what you would expect from the Allman Brothers. Expensive but worth every penny.

Love the ABB,BUT!!!!
I have to concur with other(US) reviewers regarding the price.I love the ABB,but this is ridiculously over the top,I'll wait to see if the price drops to something saner.Spin Cd's are selling it for £90,still too much at £10 a disc.If profit is the motive, they should sell it cheaper, and sell more,as it stands,it seems just plain greedy to ask for the advertised price.
