Brilliant shorts with actual gel i would say.. Size is small though.
I have not bought much cycling stuff for years. So dipping my toe in this current market, is not a market for British built people.Have tried some from Amazon but found it tended to be small and you have to try and judge the reviews. So, to try to help you do that. I am 34" waist with not a skinny build so muscly legs.I have found some to be too tight on the legs. You have to remember Asian build is slight, so skinny arms and legs, not like us brits. So I got XL and have to say its just right. I am not a fan of tight shiny Lycra but there is not much choice if you want a pad.The pad does seem to contain Gel and I have to say on a 20 mile round trip, I didn't feel the saddle, seriously. It is nice and firm which you need to keep you padded over the miles. The legs have a bead of silicone round, they were stuck together when I received them and you kind of have to peel them apart. They do not move on your legs. The pad and overlocked stitch is not in the best position at the front, it did rub where I didn't want it rub when I set off, but things settled down after a mile or two...!The pad could do with extending an inch maybe up the front. Also the cut, the back is nice and high but they needed to have a tapered cut as, the front I found a bit too high and the elastic was trying to roll over all the time, maybe thats just my build but the front on cycling shorts doesn't need to be as high as the back. But of the shorts I have tried from Amazon, these are the best, I had XL.

So far so good - good value for money
So far so good. I have a 32” waist so wasn’t sure whether to opt for Medium (30-32) or Large (32-34). Went for large and they fit fine.

Do the job
I am normally a larger, 35-36 waist so after reading reviews, ordered XL. although the shorts were quite tight around the leg, they did feel a bit baggy under the crutch. That said, just completed first ride and everything felt okay. Good padding where required.

Comfortable good value shorts
I’ve only been cycling for a couple of years, and these are only the second pair on cycling shorts I’ve bought, but the are a significant improvement on my previous pair, in comfort, fit and quality. I’m a 34” waist, and XL is spot on for me. First outing was a 36 mile ride, and found them very comfortable, would definitely recommend.

Good quality but tight elastic
For the money these are pretty decent. The material is thicker than other pairs I’ve have and quality seems good. The padding is probably the best thing about them with plenty of it and in the right place. The one thing I’m not keen on is the elastic around legs and waist. It’s quite broad and very tight but this could be that I should’ve sized up.

Great value choice for comfortable and effective shorts
These are good value. They are well made and the padding well positioned, effective at preventing soreness on a 20 mile ride on 'OK' roads. I've not gone further in a day so far, but you can only protect so much and the road surface can be more of a factor here anyway. They're probably perfectly good for longer rides. The fit was as expected, in other words good. Close fitting but not constrictive.I have washed them a couple of times at 40 degrees and there has been no problems with the material or the padding. There are higher end items that are probably better for pros, but these are fine for long recreational rides and commuting, and should last for at least a year or two. For £20 this is more than reasonable.

Size a bit misleading
I'm usually a size Medium, and have purchased a couple of other shorts in Medium and they are fine.Having looked at numerous reviews of the Ettore shorts I decided to get a Large size. They are just right in leg length, and provide good support around the thighs. However, the waistband is quite tight and sits very high up at the front (I don't have a big gut) and considering they are large I was quite dissapointed in this. Perhaps they will loosen up with use and washing, but the first couple of uses have proved them to be quite restrictive around the middle. Overall the quality seems good.

Would buy again
For the price they are as expected, good fit, comfortable and look well made. My only gripe is they need more padding in the front, ok for commuting but if you use a road bike and use the drops a lot you may find the padding inadequate.
