As others have said, this tape is both black and sticky. If that's what you're looking for, look no further!I purchased it for a more specific use: I usually use blue painters tape for bed adhesion on my 3D printer, but I wanted to find a black tape so that the printed part would stand out better against the background (for timelapses, etc).This tape is a bit thinner and not as rigid as than the 3M painter's tape I'm used to, although that doesn't really matter for me. It may make it easier to form around different shapes if you are using it for masking. In terms of bed adhesion, the surface texture was about the same, and I got even better adhesion with this than with blue tape. I tested it with PLA and a heated bed, so other materials and setups may be different, but it seems like a decent choice for printer tape.

This is not painters tape. It pulled up commercial garage paint right off the floor. Absolutely deceptive product and description. This tape was on this industrial floor for 5 days and this was the result.Avoid at all costs.

I take my street car to track days often and use painters tape for door numbers, headlight and front end rock protection but the usual blue tape from the hardware store looks cheap. This stuff goes perfect with my car color and looks more professional. It doesn't stick quite as good as the hardware store painters tape, but will get you through a day or two if applied well. Mine was peeling off by the second day but it was also raining so cant complain.

Prepare to use scissors if you want to use this tape. I will not tear even REMOTELY cleanly. Just pulling the tape edge up when starting often causes it to rip into strips. For instance, a 1/2" section of the 2" tape tearing up the roll before you even get the entire edge of the tape up to start unrolling it. Trying to tear somewhat square bits of tape is a lesson in frustration. I have used a lot of brands and styles of masking and painters tape, but this is by far *the worst I have ever used*. Trash product.

Used it for a halloween decoration on the garage door, we did a test on the inside of the door and it didn't leave a residue after 10+ days. For the real design it was up for 2+ weeks and it didn't leave any residue and stuck well the whole time.

I used this tape to paint recently but when I went to take the tape off it was almost too sticky. It was very hard to peel it off and it left some residue on the walls. It works well for other purposes but for painting I was not all that impressed with the tape.

I absolutely LOVE this tape. It's sticky but not too sticky (so it's easy to remove from roll without tearing).

So - my flue won't close completely so I taped the front vents of the fireplace closed for the winter (until I can get that fixed!) and the black tape looks MUCH better than clear box-sealing tape.

We purchased this to use for my boyfriend's track bike; they require that the mirrors, lights, etc. are covered before the bike can be taken on the track. This allows for excellent coverage, is easy to apply and is a great shade of black. The tape remained in place even after the motorcycle was washed twice; once removed it leaves no residue.

I got this painters tape to use to cover my lights on my track motorcycle. It loses points to me because the way it rips is annoying - it tends to want to rip lengthwise instead of across.

I wanted a cheaper alternative to the permacel black paper gaff tape. This is almost there. Not quite as opaque. It's basically black masking tape. Not bad though.

Comes off easily, but does not stay on very well. I use it for track days, but it starts to peel relatively quickly.

Great purchase - great price! Applied easily and was removed without any damage to walls. You get a lot for the price too!

The tape is easy to tear for projects and taping around edges, however it lacks enough sticky residue for a good hold. Almost an hour or two after applying, the tape peeled up in certain spots. Not sure why as the material i was applying the tape to was clean and dry.
