EXCELLENT
A great story of a family and their way of life, thank heavens Queeda got it written and published. I was married to a Mantle descendent, he was also a cowboy and was a cousin to Charley. I hope Queeda is still alive, I want to meet an visit with her.

It was a blessing to me and my husband many other people that we recommended this book too
Queeda, thank you so much for taking the time to write this book. It was a blessing to me and my husband many other people that we recommended this book too. We did make a trip through Dinosaur National Monument in May 2016 and it was beautiful with green valleys and beautiful red paint brushes. We drove through Hell's Canyon but was unable to see the ranch since it had a no trespassing sign. We honored their privacy but was able to take come photos from another area of the ranch. We also took a trip from Wheatland - Riverton, Wyoming in hopes to meet a Mantle. We were blessed to meet Lonnie in Riverton and our daughter came along and she was very impressed to have the opportunity to met a cowboy legend. Thank you again for writing this book and the sequence "Last Ranch in Hell's Canyon".

Life in the Old West in the early 1900's.
A good description of one family that lived in a very primitive place, and overcame many challenges. Great descriptions of cattle ranching and horse ranching from the early 1920's to 1960.

That was a very good book, I had met Charley and Evelyn Mantle when I was a youngster, Those folks were tough, and knew all about getting along with very little, as it was a long ways to town

Interesting, but, TMI,
This book has it all, it was like watching a Roy Rogers and Dale Evans movie, but,it got sadder and more real as I read. If all of this was true, the Mantles had to have been the strongest people that ever lived. I am tired all ready from the descriptions of their trials and hardships!

Great family story that beat the federal government in court for trying to steal their land.
This book is a wonderful story of a remote ranch family and their success in life and their battle with government bureacrats that don't give a damn for private property.
