Great quality, good function, decent price.
Function: Works like a charm. And the software really is plug and play. You'll be up and running scanning barcodes to Excel or any other software within minutes.Charging time: The scanner came almost fully charged and I have not yet tested its battery life. 30hrs plus or minus a couple seems extremely reasonable.Wireless: I've used this scanner at great distances and for the average user, the range is more than enough. It broadcasts on 2.4G channel so it does overlap with typical wireless set-ups, but that has not been an issue.Quality: It's incredibly light which makes scanning hundreds of barcodes a breeze. In addition, the materials seem to be high end. The scanner's design is unique in that the laser's glass screen will not be scratched when placed in resting position. I also enjoy the led light at the top which will change color to tell you when the device is completely charged and when it has successfully read a barcode (helpful when you want to turn the annoying beeping sound off.)Manual: I don't like manuals; I don't have the time nor do I care enough to read them. That said, reading the manual and configuring (very minimal configuration) the barcode scanner is easy, especially with the clear, concise directions included.Price: on-par or cheaper than the other wireless barcode scanners I encountered on Amazon.Bottom line: Great quality, good function, decent price. Buy them if you need a quality product.BTW, I have 3 scanners and have, within a week, used them for about 10 hours of scanning, with no problems.

Working out really good.
I bought this to use with Quickbooks. The issue with quickbooks is after scanning the barcode it would then save/close the document. This is because the scanner is designed to scan the barcode and then execute the "Return" key function. Quickbooks needs this function disabled. In the manual there is no way to disable this. I contacted TaoTronics via email about my problem. 3 hrs later i get an email back. They sent be a barcode to scan with the scanner to disable the "Return" key function on the scanner. Now the scanner with scan barcodes with out hitting the "Return" key. I was really surprised on how fast they got back to me. I decided to buy some more for other computers at our office. Working out really good.EDIT: I was wrong about the Manual not stating how to disable the "Return". It does show you in the manual how to disable this and add other functions on the back end as a Suffix. I just didnt not understand it unil i started playing around with it more. You can actually make it do many things after the barcode is scanned. This product just got better.

Liked it enough that a bought a 2nd one.
This is the 2nd one I purchased. Worked for us right out of the box. Battery lasts a long time. Not perfect, because the 1st one needs two trigger pulls to "wake it up" before it reads the 1st barcode, after that it's ok. This 2nd one doesn't have that problem. That's the only problem I've ever had with it. And I'm delighted that it did what it said: the two work without interfering with each other.More info, for those who don't know about these things: this is just an input device. It works with any program because it just acts as if you typed in the numbers from the barcode. (we use it for book ISBNs). We can input it to a spreadsheet or a document or a specialized inventory program. It works by transmitting the digits to a usb receiver, so it works with any computer so equipped, and I've used it with an Android tablet that has a mini-usb port. (Had to buy a mini-to-normal-size usb adapter cable from amazon for about $7.)The manual has special barcodes in it that let you configure the scanner to work in different ways. Right out of the box is the normal way: it reads and transmits the code to the computer immediately. I've also use their "memory mode," where it can read and memorize a long list of barcodes, and later download them to the computer. (Good for use when I want to scan a bunch of books in a different room from the computer. Also I can download the same list multiple times, into the inventory program plus a spreadsheet.) Haven't tried anything else. This unit scans once per trigger pull. I've used others that stay on continuously, for multiple reads without triggering. I didn't notice that as an option in this scanner's manual. I didn't really look for it since I wouldn't want to use it that way (for battery life).

Very pleased with this
Very pleased with this, easy to set up and use. Easy to use inventory mode with easy down load. Wireless range limited if you have meter thick walls but good range on more normal walls.
