I wasn't even able to get a proper connection with this product. Keep looking! **Q: Is this connector compatible with tyumen 18 awg zip wire?** A: Agreed... it is NOT compatible with the Tyumen 18 awg zip wire. In the headline, this item is labeled 22-24 awg connector but on the dimensional page, it shows 18-22awg. That's obviously misleading and I missed that discrepancy. Once split, the outer diameter of Tyumen 18 awg zip wire ranges from .092" to .098" and the inside diameter is .062" as mentioned in the details of this connector. That's a big mismatch! Having that dimensional detail of the connector is nice, but good luck finding the wire dimensions anywhere in an ad. I was able to get it assembled, but it took 5 minutes of shaving the outer insulation of the wire to reduce the diameter enough to make it fit, which defeat the implied benefit of quick assembly. Soldering a connector on would take the same amount of time, maybe less once you had everything set up. I like the connector and will keep them for future use but am aggravated about this issue which makes it useless in my application. **Q: Are these connectors very durable? As in clipping them together and taking them apart many, many times.** A: If you can get the wires to make a connection in the first place (which is a real issue), the plug parts seem fairly easy to disconnect and replug. **Q: What is best to use to make it waterproof** A: dielectric gel and shrink tube ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The wires pull out pretty easy. Maybe im doing it wrong, but it does not work for me. *by M***E on July 18, 2024* Not recommending this ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked well with 22 AWG *by C***D on December 21, 2020* I worked far too long to try to get these to work with a 26 AWG wire, finally gave up. Then when I tried them with 22 AWG wire, connecting them was a snap! They are a tad flimsy to connect, just have to be careful. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Took some getting used to but I like them and will get more ( I did get more) *by M***N on April 25, 2021* Likes: - connects well not too hard or too easy to disconnect - feels like a solid connection, using pliers to gently buy thoroughly snap closed. - universal, no odd-man-out: all the same gender - low profile but big enough to grasp Dislikes: - instructions were tough - didn't see where you could just insert unstripped wire - the snapping together by hand is a bit of a joke, gentle plier work solve this I used these to run a router power line from my network rack to it's central mounting place and it works just fine. I did strip and double up the 22ga wire and it locked firmly. I'll use these for other applications like 3d printer, etc. Like a lot of things on AMZ lately, the instructions are more harmful than useful. Just be prepared to try a few of these, they ARE reusable (if you're competent) and will make a good connection WITHIN THEIR SPECS. UPDATE: These work well for replacing garage door sensors where they buried the wire in the walls. they make a neat, secure connection. All of these that are in use work as I'd hoped and now I'm ordering more. ## Frequently Bought Together - TYUMEN 12 Pcs 2 Pin 2 Way Universal Compact No-Wire-Stripping Toolless Spring Wire Connectors, Quick Splice Universal Wire Wiring Connector for AWG 2024 - Low Voltage Wire Connectors, Brightfour 12 Pack Quick Solderless Wire Splice Connector, 2 Way Automotive , Reliable Connection Small Wire Connectors I Type 2 Pins, Fits 20-24 AWG --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.au/products/114460961-tyumen-12-pcs-2-pin-2-way-universal-compact-no](https://www.desertcart.com.au/products/114460961-tyumen-12-pcs-2-pin-2-way-universal-compact-no) --- *Product available on Desertcart Australia* *Store origin: AU* *Last updated: 2026-10-23*
