Jules Verne (Leather-bound Classics) Kindle Edition

I will start by saying that when this arrived I was very excited to see the beautiful book. However, when I attempted to read this along with one of my students I was very dismayed to find that this is NOT the Jules Verne version of Journey to the Center of the E -I can't speak to the others I did not compare the other stories with the original. I bought this to read along with my student, but It is some kind of summary and even changes the character's name. VERY disappointed. So very disappointed.

No complaints, classic Verne. If you're not familiar with his writing--takes a little work to keep up with it. Gotta keep track of timelines. Not necessary to know all the scientific jargon, as long as you get the main point. Everyone should read at least two of these tales. A must have in every library. Also have received a few compliments on this leather bound edition.

The binding on this book is not very good quality -- the one I purchased (and am returning) had bent corners and the inside front pages were coming apart from the spine. Disappointing, because I bought it as a Christmas present, the replacement is way overdue, and now I have to come up with something else.

An excellent construction. Presentable for any home library. However the print is too light and too small for an average reader. I am ordering a magnifying reading glass.

Rather unimpressive looking book. Loves Jules Verne, but not really thrilled with adding this rendition to my library. Boring colors and cheaply made with cheap detail for a hardcover classic.Suggestion to Amazon shipping: Maybe try not putting items directly at the top of the box without any cushioning, bubble wrap, or support? That way when customers cut the top of the box open it doesn't also cut into the actual product inside? Unreal.

This collection of stories is perfect. I have bought 19 of the Canterbury Classic Leather Bound books. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! The quality is incomparable. The acid free paper. The gold gilded page edges are lovely to look at, and a joy to turn. They all have a built in ribbon bookmark. 2018. My resolution was to start my home library; compiling the classics first. And, these are must have classics for anyone who genuinely loves books.

Quality of these leather bound books from Canterbury Classics are amazing. I ordered one, and I couldn’t resist not adding more. They are a touch better than the leather bounds exclusive from BN, but as you can see in the picture, they look/play nice together. The Jules Verne collection has a nice faded dark green leather and nice artworks on the cover.

The cover is beautiful as everyone says but as for the conex of the book, I didn't really know much about Jules vernes going into the book iv just been through a phase of reading/collecting classics but when I read this book I was actually very impressed with how well his writing has help up, iv only read the first story and while there are some issues, mainly heavy racism, the overall story was brilliant, something I usually dont say as a mainly nonfiction reader, would genuinly recommend this book and I am going to finish all the other story's soon

They say never judge a book by its cover. But this is gorgeous. (I know the stories already) so to get a book that is not only a great read, but has a very strokeable cover, then you can't go wrong!
