M3800 RapidAir MaxLine 1/2" Compressed Air Tubing Commercial / Shop Piping Kit

Easy to put together a leak-free system
Mostly what I have used from this kit is the hose, cutter/reamer tools, and a few fittings. The manifolds have more holes than would normally be used and there is an assume that the installer uses their 45 degree angle fittings for the outlets. The kit came with a bunch of 90 degree fittings but only one Tee. Since I was able to sweep the bends I have not used any of the 90s. This is not the right combination of parts for a system with the trunk line running high up the wall with vertical drops to the outlets. ( Tees and other fittings are available but not cheap ) As far as the air line, it has a layer of aluminum in between the inner and outer plastic. Perhaps for this reason it is not as flexible as one might imagine. It tends to take a set and hold it. For me that was a good thing, and makes it easier to unroll and place where I wanted it. The fittings work very well and are easy to assemble ( or disassemble ). Just be sure to use the included cutter and reamer. The actual seal is made by o-rings sealing against the internal surface of the tubing. The reamer chamfers the inside and outside of the tubing simultaneously. This helps the tubing slide on easily. With regard to flow, the connectors neck down the ID significantly. I measure about 7.9mm. This is comparable to one of the high flow ( Milton type V ) couplers in 1/4". It is not limiting for my needs but beware if you need to maintain an actual 1/2" air line. Should only be a factor at air flows above 25 CFM or so.

Not cheap, but you get what you pay for!
When I first started contemplating running compressed air piping in my new garage, I was taken aback at how much it was going to cost do do it with this system (and others, for that matter). The base price of the kit isn't bad, but by the time you add a bunch of parts to expand, it starts getting pretty pricey. After looking at all my options, weighing the pros and cons, and configuring a system on RapidAir's excellent website, I settled on this product. I'm glad I did. This system is very well engineered, made with high quality materials and construction, and flat out delivers. It's super simple to work with - I ran 180 feet of line with multiple connections and 7 air drops in about a day. I called to talk to a person at one point, and their support was prompt and excellent.Bottom line - this is a quality company making a quality product. Don't hesitate, go for it.
