Seems good, but not really cheaper.
Many other reviewers have concentrated negatively on the corn syrup in this formula. While I'm not crazy about it either, I keep several points in perspective:1. It is "corn syrup" and not the supposedly worse "high fructose corn syrup." They are two different things.2. Cow milk contains about 13 grams of sugar per cup. It is primarily lactose, which is broken down in the body before absorption. Presumably the breaking down process slows the absorption somewhat (I'm sure no expert) but still it is sugar and much of it ends up as glucose... which is also a major part of corn syrup.3. The famous brand Enfamil Toddler Transitions also has "corn syrup solids" listed as the 3rd ingredient, and actually has slightly higher total carbohydrates, so I don't think it is any better.4. When our baby was younger my wife primarily breast fed her, so formula formulas were not a huge concern to us. Now we are getting away from the breast feeding, but into solid foods. Personally I'm more concerned about the child eating cookies, ice cream, sweet fruits, and junk baby foods than I am about glucose vs. maltose vs. fructose vs. lactose in the milk she drinks. On the other hand, this product is currently priced slightly higher than the Enfamil brand, so I'm not really sure what the selling point is.

A Step in a Brighter Direction!
I'm soon to be a mother of 3 and my two younger children both enjoyed Enfagrow Toddler Transitions, however this time around i listened to a friend and decided to try Bright Beginnings Premium Milk-Based Formula with Iron Step 2. Bright Beginnings is Identical to Enfagrow Toddler Transitions, another milk based formula for babies/toddlers ages 9 months-24months. It's extremely versatile and mixes well with cereal and oatmeal.Bright Beginnings also has extra DHA and Iron vitamins and helps support better growth, brain & eye development as well as immune system development. So your baby/toddler won't be losing out on any of the great essential vitamins and minerals needed for healthy development. What i love most about Bright Beginnings is that it comes in a 24oz can for nearly the same price as Enfagrow's 21 oz can sometimes less at some stores. I would definitely recommend this formula to anyone who is a longtime fan of Enfamil and is looking for a change.

A good substitute for mother's milk
Bright Beginnings formula is a good substitute for mother's milk. It tastes like formula, so there is slight cardboard taste, even though it is somewhat sweet (yes, I taste everything my kid eats). She is not a big fan of formula, but she will drink this brand.Easy to follow instructions and easy to use container make this an efficient way to feed your baby anywhere. The formula is fortified iron and other essential nutrients necessary for older babies. The other Bright Beginnings container for infants is better than this typical can, hence why I deducted a star. But I still recommend it.

Corn syrup's a no-no
The sweet corn syrup as a major ingredient rules this formula out for the well being of my great grandchild. It's a darn shame that this is a part of what otherwise would be a wholesome and healthful formula.

Decent Alternative to Name Brands
While definitely not my first choice, this offers an affordable alternative to brands such as Enfamil and Similac without sacrificing babies basic needs. I'm definitely a fan of these new tub designs as well!

Much of corn syrup, i.e. fructose linked to addiction & liver damage
Bright Beginnings Premium Milk Infant Stage 2 for toddlers aged 9-24 months is characterized by milk, oils, more corn syrup, less lactose, DHA, ARA, FOS, calcium, vitamins, and other minerals. The sugar in breast milk is non-sweet lactose (disaccharide) not absorbed into the bloodstream already in the mouth, as sweet glucose (monosaccharide), which thus is not a healthy substitute for lactose. Unfortunately, in the Stage 2 (not in 1 ), most of milk's lactose is substituted for corn (glucose) syrup solids and not for a polysaccharide, e.g. maltodextrin.Corn syrup (solids) contains glucose and - like high fructose corn syrup - may contain fructose, which presence (sweetness) can be masked by adding other sugars. Scientists say high fructose corn syrup is addictive as cocaine. So are corn syrup solids with fructose, which content is not provided on the label. Also, high intake of dietary fructose may lead to liver damage from bacteria due to their movement from gut into the blood stream and liver. So, would you like to start your child's addiction to sweet taste in mouth, obesity, and exposure to a potential liver disease (NAFLD) when it is an infant, wait for later, or maybe not to accustom it to corn syrup at all in order to avoid the fructose desire/addiction, as it is not common in nature, humans were not exposed to its consumption, and thus are vulnerable even those who are not obese yet?!DHA (docosahexaenoic acid found in maternal milk or fish oil) can be produced in the body from vegetable oils and thus is not needed to be supplemented with them. A study found that preterm infants fed DHA had better developmental outcomes, but not the full-term or term infants (1-12 mo) who develop normally. A formula for the newborn (0-3 mo) without corn syrup seems to suit better both the preterm and full-term newborns while no evidence suggests that supplementing DHA for the older infants (3-12 mo) is beneficial.ARA (arachidonic acid found in dairy) can be produced in the body from vegetable oils and thus is not needed to be supplemented with them. Thus, ARA is not essential in the diet not deficient in linoleic acid, if its conversion to ARA is not impaired. ARA is marketed as an anabolic bodybuilding supplement in a variety of products. The 1st clinical study found that ARA possibly enhances anaerobic capacity. While high ARA consumption is not advised for individuals with compromised health, it does not appear to have pro-inflammatory effects in healthy individuals, but it may counter the anti-inflammatory effects of omega-3 fatty acid.FOS (fructooligosaccharides) are used as an alternative sweetener also in commercially prepared syrups. Clinical studies have shown that administering FOS (and prebiotics) can increase the number of beneficial bacteria in the colon while simultaneously reducing the population of harmful bacteria thus increasing the overall gastrointestinal (GI) tract health. The fermentation of FOS results in the production of gases and acids. Calcium is more soluble in acid, and, therefore, more of it comes out of food and is available to move from the gut into the bloodstream.
