I wasn’t always in a love affair with foam rolling, because I thought they were pointless and somewhat of a gimmick. Not until some rodeo friends had tossed me around did I get a subtle nudge in the direction to try these out. The bulls had left me a new shade of black-&-blue with a little inconvenience to move. I needed something and turned to a chiropractor and therapist office. With the encouragement of a therapist, I came to terms to try these “affordable massager”, as she called it. At the office I needed to apologize to my foam roller, since we became inseparable new friends. Once therapy was no longer needed I needed to find my new foam roller companion. Precipitously I come across this White Foam Roller 6x36, which looked and sounded superb. All the reviews proclaimed just as I would have wrote for my old friend. Sure enough I order it, and thought we would be united once again. Amazon is great, it arrived in less than two days and I couldn’t wait for the torture to begin.In the description it said it was constructed of hi-density foam that at first will give you a sensation of a torture device from a medieval dungeon. But, shortly after a use or two this foam roller will end up feeling more like a lumpy pillow then a roller. Now image yourself trying to laydown on a round surface and roll but shortly it become oval then belonged. This makes for a bumpy ride, somewhat like a flat spot on your tire after you had to skid to a stop. Ideally this would work wonderfully for a complete beginner, sensitive person, or someone who is not carrying any weight like a child. Since the foam broke down, we have had to come up with other uses for this foam roller.Being stubborn and cheep I had to find different ways for this little foam roller to come in handy. First, I noticed it makes a great doorstopper. Meanwhile the house always needs change, which means the furniture is shifted around the house quite often. So I had cut a few inch cycle pucks off one side to place under the furniture making it slightly easier to slide around. Also, it works noticeable well when kids like to run in the house. All you need is place it under a rug in the hallway for a little speed bump and sure enough they will think before not listing. Do be careful, as airborne children can get hurt! Lastly, I found it works wonderfully for a noodle or even a log roller in the pool. This little roller hasn’t been the torture devise I would of liked. However, it was well worth the money, from flying children to house improvements, it always keeps me smiling.

Needed a foam roller for pre- and post- workout soft tissue work. I was a little surprised at the cost of these, given that they are made of seemingly low-cost materials and I don't imagine the manufacturing process to be all that more complicated than making styrofoam packing peanuts. I took a chance that this roller - one of the least expensive ones on the site - could stand up to the rigors of me rolling around on it day after day. I've been using it for a couple of months now, and I think it works well. I guess it's job is to be round, apply firm pressure to the spots I am rolling, and keep it's shape. I think it is doing these things as well as other rollers I've used at the gym that I've seen on here to be selling for a considerably higher price.

I have been putting off getting myself a foam roller for a while only because I kept putting it to the bottom of my to-do list, then finally decided to get one after I realized I was always using the ones at the gym (sweaty and smelly) and they always felt great on my tight muscles. I love this thing, great price compared to what you find in sporting goods stores. I use it often, have my dad using it (he loves it!). It's not sweaty, smelly or falling apart like the ones at the gym - I would recommend this just for generally improving your health and well-being. I'm a health care professional and recommend this to my patients, or show them how to use, why it's helpful, and it really is a great addition to my tools for my patients and for my own use for keeping muscles more loose, joints more mobile and my body is less pain after workouts, sports, or long trips on a plane or in a car. A MUST HAVE, but make sure you know how, or ask someone/order a video, to use it properly so you can benefit from it rather than hurt yourself and think it was a waste of money. Oh yeah, it works great to roll out my muscles before leaving for a yoga class or softball game because I'm not stretching the muscles, but actually helping them get ready to move around more freely!

Just like the rollers you can find in the gym nowadays, it could have been red, blue, or padded with fabric, but this was the simple white medium density foam. In fact, I realized that it is the packaging material you can find in the TV monitor or computer packages.I was reluctant of the medium density of the products before I ordered it. And, I did not want to spend double the money to get 8inch roller either. Somehow thinking that 6inch medium density roller cannot endure long for heavy weighted person over 200 pounds-not me though.When it arrived, it was delivered by FedEx after 2 days. And, my reluctance was all gone by the time I laid my back on it. The medium density is in fact better for your back muscles as it is slightly cushy. The size was still perfect keeping my back closer to the floor. If it was an 8inch one, your back would be bent more, and one could hurt his back losing the control.in all, though I thought it was slightly expensive(SH), I am very satisfied with what I get here. No back massage is required and it is great for your core strength exercise at home.Money well-spent!
